3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
1 Jul 49: Volunteered at KANGGYE & assigned to 120 mm Ind Arty Co, 3rd Regt, lst Div. Arrived KEJONG (鷄井). Various types of training were conducted. Commissioned Jr Lt.
21 Jun 50: 3rd Regt arrived at YONCHON (連川); rested for five days.
25 Jun 50: 3rd Regt attacked across the 38th parallel and advanced to MUNSAN (汶山), where it was joined by the 1st Regt of the 1st Div.
31 Jun 50: 2nd Regt arrived at KYONGSONG, the city was already occupied by other NK units. 2nd Regt rested at KYONGSONG for three days.
? Jul 50; Arrived at CHUNGJU (忠州). Wounded and evacuated to KYONGSONG.
9 Sep 50: Released from the hospital.
11 Sep 50: Assigned to 3rd 120 mm Mortar Co, 1st Regt, 31st Div at KYONGSONG, promoted to Lt and became company commander. Since there was no equipment, training consisted of close order drill.
27 Sep 50: Because ROK army was advancing to KYONGSONG, 31st Div left for KALMAC (葛末).
10 Oct 50: Arrived at KALMAC (葛末) (vicinity of CHORWON (鐵原), Div was overrun and surrounded by the ROKA. PW escaped to SIBYON-NI.
14 Oct 50: Surrendered to the ROKA.

Div was composed of two Regts; each Regt was composed of three Bns with 3 Cos each.
One 120 mm Mortar Co was attached to the Regt.
Estimated strength of one Bn was approx 450, and strength of the 120 mm Mortar Co was approx 60.
