3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
25 Jul 50 - Forced into army at CHAERYONG (載寧)
30 Jul 50 - Arrived in PYONGYANG then went to KANGDONG (江東) and was assigned to 3rd Co, 4th Ind Engr Bn. Received about 60 days training.
29 Sep - Went to KAESONG and stayed 6 days.
5 Oct 50 - Went to about 6 mi E of KUMCHON, at this time they didn’t have weapons. About one third of the unit were issued rifles.
11 Oct 50 - Returned to the KUMCHON Area where PW surrendered.
Unit Organization and Strength:
The original and actual battle strength of the 4th Ind Eng Bn and the 5th Bn was 720 men.
Unit Duties:
Construction and/or demolishing bridges.
