3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
25 Jul 50 - Conscripted at CHORWON (鉄原) assigned to 18th Brig, Ind Trans Co.
18 Aug 50 - Arrived KYONGSONG (鏡城)
16 Sep 50 - Deserted his unit and surrendered to security police near YONDUNGPO, He was held in the INCHON Jail until 15 Oct 50, when he was turned over to the US Forces at the INCHON stockade.
Unit Organization and Strength :
18th Brigade was composed of approx 6 Bn’s and one transportation Co.
Equipment:
Transportation company had five US jeeps, five US 2½ ton trucks and five Russian trucks.
Unit History:
Brigade was newly organized at CHORWON sometime in Jul 50.
Morale and Propaganda:
PW stated that he did not know what he was fighting for, therefore, he had intentions of deserting his unit for some time. Observed the US propaganda leaflets which increased his desire.
