The following is a consolidation of pertinent information contained in PW Interrogation Reports as listed below:

REPORT NO.
1101KIM Si Chung (金時中) Pvt, 19th Div (Code 559), 35th Rifle Regt, 3rd Bn, Signal Plat.
 3rd Bn was composed of the 7th, 8th, & 9th Rifle Companies, HMG Co, 45 mm Gun unit, 82 mm Mortar unit, AT Rifle Plat, Medical Plat, Signal Plat, Supply Plat, and Technical Sqd. Strength Sig Plat 1 Off, 16 men. On 120800 K Oct 50 the 35th Regiment was engaged in its 1st battle approx 7 km North of KAESONG.
 From 16 Aug 50 approximately 2,000 South Koreans were assigned to newly formed 3rd Regiment, 19th Division at SUNGHO RI and received Communist indoctrination for 15 days. From 1 Sep 50 troops were given infantry squad tactics. Rifle firing drills were conducted 3 times and all troops fired approximately ten rounds each.
 CHON, Ho Chin (金虎鎭) Capt, CO 3rd Bn HEARSAY: Wireless communication was conducted between Division Headquarters and Regiment Headquarters. Line communication conducted between Regiment Headquarters and Battalion Headquarters and lower echelon.
 Due to shortage of competent cryptographers simple numbers or groups of numbers were used to represent words in wireless communication. The grouping of numbers to represent words were changed daily to avoid identification.
 HEARSAY: Rumored that 300,000 Chinese Communist Troops have assembled at ANTUNG, MANCHURIA. These troops will be sent to KOREA in the near future.
1102HAN Tae Ul (韓泰乙) Pvt, Ind Infantry Bn, 1st Co (SUGYO Unit). The Independent Infantry Bn was organized and activated at KOMCHON, North KOREA on 14 Aug 50. Composed of approximately 700 newly inducted troops between the ages of l6 to 38.
 On 12 Oct 50, deployed on both mountain sides of the highway extending North from KAESONG to KUMCHON at a point 8 kms North of Mt SONHAK SAN.
1103LEE, Yun Yong (李允閻 용) Jr Sgt, 27th Brigade, 2nd Bn (Code Name - NAKTONG RIVER) Sig Plat.
 Deserted because of utter dislike of communistic ideology.
 Surrendered with a safe conduct pass.
 While traveling through SONAK-SAN, PW observed 107 Unit (Interior Guard Unit) on the mountain on 9 Oct 50.
 Sig Plat used 2 × UNI FIELD TELEPHONES, 7 × TAI - 43 FIELD TELEPHONES & l × SWITCHBOARD for inter communication with 2nd Bn Hqs, Companies and 27th Brigade Hqs.
1104AN, Song Sop (安城変) Pvt, 635th Unit, 8854th Engr Bn, 1st Co.
 8854th Engr Bn composed of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Engr Companies, Supply Plat, Technical Plat, Medical Plat, and AT Plat.
 The AT Plat is composed solely of members of the North Korean Labor (Communist) Party. Original Bn strength 300.
 KIM, Won Chol (김원철) Lt, CO, 1st Co.
 PW surrendered carrying a safe conduct pass.
1105HWANG Ok Yong (黃沃龍) Pvt, 27th Independent Brigade, 3rd Bn (Code No. 52), 2nd Co.
 APO : CHOSEN JINMIN GUN, 8874 (“IP”) (邑) 2.
 2nd Bn Headquarters was located 4 km South of KAEJON on 12 Oct 50. 27th Brigade Headquarters was located in the outskirts of KAEJON, due north.
 KIM, Do Ryon (김도련) Jr Lt, Co, 2nd Co.
1106HONG Won Sop (洪元変) Pvt, 27th Brigade (Code 635), 3rd Bn, 2nd Co.
 PW was inducted on 27 Aug 50. He and 700 others received 3 days training on “Banzai” attacks at KANDONG. Unit was transferred to SARIWON on 31 Aug 50 and with 8,000 others was drilled on mountain fighting techniques.
 KIM, Do Ryon (김도련) Jr Lt, Co, 2nd Co.
 PW observed during Aug 50, three (3) US PW’s guarded by three (3) NK soldiers walking through PYONGYANG in a display of US prisoners to North Korean people.
1107CHI, Song Tae (池成泰) Pvt, 107th Ind Regt, 36th Ind Guard Bn, Ord Co.
 36th Battalion strength 500, 3rd Co strength 194.
 107th Ind Regt was composed of the 36th, 32nd (?) and the 27th battalions, an Engr, Medical and a Hq platoon. The 36th Bn was until 9 Oct 50 an independent unit.
 The 107th headquarters was located approx 3 km N of SONGHAEK SAN on 13 Oct 50.
 The 32nd, 36th and the 27th battalions withdrew from SONGHAEK SAN, 9 Oct 50 to a smaller mountain, approx 2-3 km north.
1108CHOE, Sang Guk (蔡相國) Pvt, 19th Div, 29th Regt, Signal Co, Telephone Plat.
 Strength of Sig Co, 60; of telephone Plat, 18.
 Tel Plat Ldr’s name was LEE, Sun Il, Rank: Jr Lt. He was executed for attempting to desert his platoon on 8 Oct 50 at KUMCHON.
 On 5 Sep 50 PW saw one (1) wounded B-29 American pilot at TONGSONG MYON. PW heard that this pilot killed 6 North Korean officers with a pistol. Fate of the pilot unknown.
 TONGSONG MYON was located approx h km N of SUKCHON.
 PW heard from a fellow soldier that Russian and North Korean officers were seen inspecting trenches which were located north of KAEJONG, on 2 Oct 50.
1109KIM, Kyong Sun (金慶順) Cpl, 19th Div, 2nd Regt, 1st Bn.
 The 19th Division was activated in the early part of Sep 50 in HEIGEN GUN, SUKCHON.
 Former 6th Independent Battalion Code number (337 KUMBUTAI).
 2nd Regiment headquarters was located in CHIDONG NI prior to 7 Oct. The 1st and 3rd Battalions of this Regiment was in an area, approx 12 km south of CHIDONG NI. The 2nd Battalion remained in CHIDONG NI. The 27th Independent Brigade was in front of the 2nd Regiment,
 KIM, Sang Huk (김상묵) Lt Col, Co, 2nd Regt.
1110YANG, Pung Yon (楊豊濂) Pvt, 27th Brigade, 3rd HMG Bn, 2nd Co.
 27th Brig Hq was located on a mountain approx 1.5 km N. of KUMCHON on 3 Oct 50, in vicinity of SONGHYON-NI.
1111CHANG Se Ha (張世華) Pfc, 19th Ind Tank Regt (Code 348), 1st. Co.
 The 19th Ind Tank Regt was activated at KUMCHON, on 27 Sep 50, compos ed of 2 × tank Bns.
 Regt was equipped with 5 × T-34 tanks, which were all in the 1st Co. PW was told that the North Korean Army was receiving ammo supplies in large quantities from Communist CHINA via SINUIJU. His informant was a friend who made weekly trips to SINUIJU by truck to haul ammo to the front lines.
 On 10 Oct 50 PW overheard his Bn commander telling several officers that 1,500 North Korean pilots are training in RUSSIA.
1112O, Song Chun (吳聖俊) Pvt, 107th Regt, 36th Bn, 3rd Co.
 Original strength of 3rd Co - 184
 36th Bn Hq, 107th Regt located at a village 4 km north of SONGAK SAN (松嶽山) on 10 Oct 50.
1113PAK, Too Hak (朴斗學) Pvt, 107th Guard Regt, 33rd Bn, 2nd Co, (Code 20th Unit).
 The 107th Guard Regiment was composed of 27th Bn, 31st Bn and 33rd Bn. Each battalion was composed of 1 × 60 mm Mortar company, 2 × Infantry companies, and 1 × HMG Platoon. 50% of the troops in 107th Guard Regiment are South Korean conscripts. Original strength 2nd Co 154.
 On 9 Oct 50, the 107th Guard Regiment was at Mt. SONGHAK SAN. The rear headquarters for the 27th Battalion on 11 Oct 50, was at PAGEYONG PUKTO.
 The forward Battalion headquarters was at YONGNAM MYON where most of the troops were deployed.
1114PAK, Nam Su (朴楠洙) Pvt, 46th Ind Tank Regt (Code No. 348), 3rd Bn, 1st Co.
 PW stated that he was a draft evader who hid in the mountain and was fed by his mother. One day the Home Ministry Security Guard told his mother that if she did not send her son into the army the government would confiscate the land and house.
 Bn strength approx - 210.
 PW heard that the 46th Independent Tank Regiment was located north of SONGHYON NI (BT8606) and east of the main highway as of 11 Oct.

1117KIM, Won Sik (金元植) Pvt, 19th Div, 35th Regt (Code 559 Unit), 1st Bn, 3rd Co.
 3rd Co strength - 130.
 1st Bn strength - 600
 Location of 19th Div Hq was in SUKCHON as of 27 Sep 50.

  KIM, Kwang Mun (김광문) 1st Lt, CO, 3rd CO.
1118SO, Song Bin (徐聖彬) Sr Lt, 94th Ind Regt, Engr Section.
 94th Ind Regt (Code #583) composed of 3 × Inf Bns, 76 mm field gun Co, Signal Co, 45 mm AT Gun Plat, Engr Plat, Medic Unit, AA Machine Gun Co, SMG Co, Veterinarian Unit, Guard Plat, Recon Plat and Transport Co. Original strength 2,300.
 Engr Plat (strength 30) on 2 Oct at PYONGYANG received 200 × short handle shovels. Prior to this Engr Plat had 500 × long handle shovels, 200 × large axes, 100 × small axes, 10 × two-men saws, 3 × small saws, 2 × mine detectors, no ground mines (never seen or used), 1 × electric dynamite charger and 45 × kilograms of dynamite for instruction purposes.
 On 12 Oct 94th Ind Regt Hq was located in a village (foot of a Mt) which was approx 6 km N of SIBYON RI (BT 9941). Village name was SANGSHA RI (上沙里).

  CHON, Kyu Han (전구한) Jr Lt, CO, Engr Plat.
1119CHI, Chong Paek (池貞伯) Jr Lt, 19th Div, 37th Regt Headquarters.
 19th Div composed of the 37th, 36th and one other unknown rifle regiment and Div Arty Regiment.
 37th Regiment consisted of 2,000 men and included: 76 mm, 120 mm and 45 mm gun companies; SMG, Signal and Engineer companies; Guard, Transportation and a Reconnaissance Plat.
 The 19th Division was activated on 24 Jul 50 at SUKCHON and was known as the SUKCHON Division until 22 Sep 50.
 Division moved from SUKCHON to NAMCHON o/a 24 Sep 50. The 36th and the other rifle regiments remained with the division headquarters. The 27th was fighting alongside the 37th Regiment at KUMCHON, It withdrew with the 37th Regiment on 12 Oct 50.

1120KIM, Chae Myong (金在明) Lt, 7th Div Hq (Code 851 KUMONIT).
 The 7th Division was activated on 18 Jul 50 at KAESONG. 60% of the troops in the division were South Korean conscripts from the SEOUL area.
 7th Division Hq on 23 Sep 50 was at CHUNGYO RI (near HYOPCHON). It was cut off from it’s route of escape to North KOREA. On 23 Sep 50 had a strength of 9,000 men and officers.

  CHONG, Yon Kam (鄭年間) Sr Col, Propaganda Off, 7th Div.
1121PAK, Chon Su (朴千寿) Lieutenant, Internal Affairs Headquarters, Military Conscription Committee, SEOUL Procurement Bureau, NKA.
 The NKA is divided into the National Defense Headquarters and the Internal Affairs Headquarters. The mission of the latter is Internal Security.
 The Internal Affairs Hq is composed of the Internal Affairs Office, Police Constabulary, Guard Unit, the Political Defense Bureau and the Military Conscription Committee.
 The Military Conscription Committee is composed of the Army Procurement Bureaus (Logistical Commands) for each large city.
 Each Army Procurement Bureau (Logistical Cormmand) is composed of an Army Procurement Section, Transportation Section, Finance Section, and Administration Section.

 North Korean National Defense Hq was located in underground shelters in the former Japanese Div Hq area, PYONGYANG as of 3 Sep 50.
1123PAK, Kyong Tae (朴敬大) Lieutenant, 107th Regt (Code 5656) Ministry of Interior Security Unit, Rear Echelon Section. Veterinarian.
 On 12 Oct 50, units of 107th Regiment were located as follows:
 Hq 107th Regt - SAMPO DONG (vic BT 8713).
 36th Bn (Unit attached to 107th Regt o/a 5 Oct 50) - SONGHAK Mt. (vic BT 8408).
 33rd Bn - On North foot of SONGHAK Mt. (vic BT 8408).
 31st Bn - SANGO RI (vic BT 8313).
 27th & 32nd Bn - 4 Km north of SONGHAK Mt.
 Arty Bn - YUHYUNG (BT 7510).
 300th Bn (Unit attached to 107th Regt o/a 5 Oct 50) - Unknown.

 As of 12 Oct 50, disposition of units of 27th Brigade was as follows:
 Inf Bn with 1st HMG Bn vicinity S of CHANGPONG GUN.
 2nd HMG Bn with 1/2 strength of 1st HMG Bn in SANGO RI approx 5 Km N of the 38th parallel.
 3rd HMG Bn just N of KAEJON RR Station.
 4th HMG Bn approx. 12 Km W of KAEJON.
 Engr Bn, Recon Co and Signal Co 3 Km N of KAEJON RR Station vicinity of 27th Brigade Hq.
 76mm Bn, 120mm Bn and Tank Bn approx 2 Km S of KUMCHON.
