3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
18 Mar 48: Volunteered in the Security Force at SINUIJU and defended the AP NOK River in the vicinity of SINUIJU for two weeks.
14 Feb 49: Arrived in YANGGU and defended and fortified the area N of 380 parallel, south of YANGGU.
1 Sep 49: PW & four others were sent to SUNCHON (信川) for advanced training. Became a squad leader
25 Jan 50: Left SINCHON and arrived in KANSONG 4 days later, and was assigned to HMG Co of the 6th Bn of 1st Brig which was located in HWACHON (華川).
23 Jun 50: Left HWACHON, for INJE with 6th Bn.
1-6 Jul 50: Patrolled the area around HONGCHON (洪川).
5 Aug 50: Was wounded at ONDONG and sent to SEOUL.
21 Sep 50: After recovery was sent to 8th Bn, 3rd Regt of the 31 Div.
29 Sep 50: 31st Div retreated from Inchon area and arrived in CHIPPOLI.
9 Oct 50: Deserted.
13 Oct 50: Surrendered near ICHON to ROK troops.
Unit Organization & Strength:
The 31st Div was composed of 3 Regts, which in turn had three Bns. very Bn had 5 Cos - namely - 3 Inf Co, 1 HMG Cơ & 1 Mortar Co.

Unit History:
23 Sep 50: The 1st Ind Regt was organized in SEOUL.
5 Oct 50: The 1st Ind Regt was attached to the 31st Div as its 3rd Inf Regt.
Knowledge of other Units:
The 1st Brig which was engaged in battle for the first time in ANDONG, was almost totally annihilated. P
