3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
4 Aug 50 - PW was forced into the NK Army at KAESONG and taken to PYONGYANG with about 250 men.
6 Aug - PW together with 1250 men left PYONGYANG and arrived KIYANG (기양里) Li. Received 10 days training and on 16 Aug 50 was sent to SUN O LI (勝胡里) and assigned to the newly organized 79 Regt. Received advanced training.
17 Sep 50 - 79th Regt was attached to the 19th Div as a 3rd Regt.
3 Oct 50 - PW with the 3rd (79th) Regt moved down to KUWAJON (九化場).
11 Oct 50 - Arrived at KUWAJON, and retreated since UN forces were already there. Deserted his unit and surrendered to UN forces.
Unit Organization and Strength:
19th Div was composed of 3 Regt of 3 Bns per Regt and 5 Cos per Bn.
The 3rd Regt (79th) had about 1,250 men.
Equipment:
There was one LMG assigned to a squad. One HMG to a Co. One 76mm cannon and two 45 mm cannons to a Co. One submachine gun to a platoon.
