PW was cooperative but lacked information. He was in fair health.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
PW was inducted into the NKA on 4 Sep 50, at HAEJU with approximately 60 men. Marched to PYOKSONG-GUN and was directly attached to the 2nd Co, 1st Bn, 97th Regt on 8 Sep 50. PW received approx 1 month of basic training here. PW recalled that the 1st Bn went to KAESONG on foot and arrived there on 11 Oct 50, and engaged in combat for the first time. PW and his unit (1st Bn) advanced 20km to the neighborhood of PAEKCHON, where he surrendered with another soldier to elements of 2nd Bn, 7th Cav Regt on 12 Oct 50.

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of the soldiers in the unit was very low because they were forced to jin the army against their will.
Personnel of PW’s unit had never seen US propaganda leaflets.
