ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 1294　26 September 1950

FIELD REPORT (521 - MISD - 0001)　21 September 1950

Subject was cooperative and talked freely. Information herein could be considered fairly reliable. He does not appear to have any further information of value.

The 1st Regt was located at HAM HUN (咸興), and the 2nd Regt was stationed in WON SAN (元山).

Approx 700 men of the 3rd Regt was at KIMPO airfield and approx 2,300 men of the 3rd Regt advanced to a area south of SEOUL (京城) on 30 July 50.

Around 1900, 17 Sept 50 about 700 men of the 3rd Regt retreated to a mountainous area, approx 1 km east of the KIMPO airfield. The battle started at 1900, 18 Sept 50 and half of them were believed to be killed and the rest of the men fled and retreated in various direction.

Subject believes that he was the only PW of this battle.

Each man received 30 rounds of ammunition before they retreated.
