PW was a Medical Officer, was very cooperative and willing to give information, recommended for further interrogation on medical EEI.

2nd Div composed of 4th (code 238), 6th (code 244) & 17th (code 242) Inf Regts, Arty (code unk) Regt, NCO Training Bn, Signal Bn, 45mm AT Bn, Engr Bn, Medical Bn, Recon Co, Transportation Co and Intendance Unit.

LOCATION & ACTIVITIES OF UNITS:
2nd Div Hq was last reported stationed at a point 4 Km S of a main road leading to CHANGNYONG and 2 Km W of NAKTONG River, on 18 Sep 50.
The 4th, 6th, & 17th Regtal Hqs were located 5 Km W of NAKTONG River and 3 Km N of the main road leading to CHANGNYONG from the West.
The hqs were stationed in the above mentioned order, with a Mt separating them. Hq was located in valley.

PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted 20 Oct 47, at PYONGYANG as Sr Lt. Spent one month with CHQ, as Medical Officer.

PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY: (Continued)
On 10 Nov 47, PW departed for NANAM and was assigned to 2nd Div, 4th Regt, Medical Co. as staff officer. Stayed with the Unit until Dec 49. In Dec 49, PW was transferred to Med. Co, 17th Regt, which was stationed at SUNDOK (선덕). In Jan 50, PW was promoted to Capt. and became the C.O. of Med Co.
On 13 Jun 50, the Unit (2nd Div) departed SUNDOK.
On 171600K Sep 50, PW and 11 other men from his unit (17th Regt) surrendered to unknown ROK troops.

REPLACEMENTS:
PW states that approx 1,500 replacements came to 2nd Div, at TONGSAN-RI area, on 12 Sep 50.
These replacements were all S Koreans, who were conscripted into the N Korean Army and had no military training.

FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
PW received average of two meals per day. Food consisted of one ball of rice and few vegetables and meat. Food was brought on Ox carts almost every night by way of main road.
Ammunition last received at HWACHON, on 17 Jun 50 (Officers 16 rds per & EM 70 rds per). Ammunition was brought by Unit's horse carts.

MORALE:
Morale of PW's unit (2nd Div) was low, because they did not have enough weapons & ammo and also insufficient supply of food.

U.S. PW'S:
PW treated two (2) wounded U.S. prisoners at SUNSO-RI, on 9 Sep 50. The prisoners were sent to 2nd Div field hospital. Name of PWs unknown, however they were about 30 yrs and 21 yrs.

PW was promoted to Major, on 1 Sep 50.
