PW appeared to be intelligent. He was cooperative. PW claims he fled SEOUL and was apprehended by Security-Unit at IN-DONG, thence instructed to enter T’AEGU for propaganda purposes. PW claims personal objective was to return to home in PUSAN. PW claims he is opposed to Communism and is willing to volunteer for ROK Army if released from PW status. PW considered reliable by interrogator.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
27 Jun 50 - Lived in SEOUL. Attended SEOUL University.
28 Jun 50 - NKPA occupied SEOUL. PW quit studies.
3 Aug 50 - PW and 2 other former students left SEOUL on foot as result of warning by SEOUL People’s Committee (人民委員會) to all unemployed to leave SEOUL for country because of food shortage in city.
8 Aug 50 - PW's party passed east of CH'UNGJU (忠州) via highway through ICH'ON (利川) CHANGHOWON-NI (長湖院里).
O/a 13 Aug 50 - PW's party arrived at SANGJU (尙州) via MUN’GYONG (聞慶) OCH'ON-Ni (梧川里) from SANGJU. Continued by foot over mountain road east of SONSAN (善山).
5 Sep 50 - PW's party apprehended by IN-DONG Security Patrol 2 km W of IN-DONG. Taken to Security Unit Hq IN-DONG. At Security Hq, questioned by NKPA Capt and two Lt’s. Later joined by 25 other refugees, including 1 woman. NKPA Capt instructed 28 assembled in Hq room to enter T'AEGU (大邱) as refugees and counter among T'AEGU population UN propaganda about NKPA. Primary objective delegated to 28 refugees was to persuade T'AEGU population to evacuate city to areas north so that NKPA could attack T'AEGU with artillery without endangering lives of refugees and city residents. Party of 28 were further instructed in event apprehended by NKPA or local village security Units to state mission and give 3rd Div Political Office as dispatching unit. 28 were divided into groups of 3.
11 Sep - 28 left IN-DONG on foot in a group of 3. PW and original two in party left respective groups and rejoined. Later joined by 4 others from other groups. Party of 7 dressed in original civilian clothing continued travel by foot south from IN-DING along cast bank NAKTONG River.
16 0800K Sep 50 - PW's party (7 refugees) apprehended by US Army patrol at point 4 km S of NAKSAN-DONG.

3 Aug 50 - PW estimates approximately 10,000 North Koreans in various administrative and guard units stationed in SEOUL (Unit designations unknown).
O/a 9 Aug 50 - NKPA Unit, strength estimated at 100 observed in OCH'ON-Ni ( ). PW believes unit enroute south.
Armor:
O/a 13 Aug 50 - On highway 8 km N of SANGJU, observed one (1) tank (medium tank - hearsay) similar to a Joseph Stalin Type, travelling north.
