PW was cooperative. Information limited due to short military service.
PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:Inducted on 21 July 50 at KUMSONG.
Received no training.
A group of approx 700 untrained conscriptees departed CHORWON on 22 July 50. Arrived WAEGWAN 15 Aug 50.
REPLACEMENTS:PW believes that the group of 700 untrained conscripts who left with him from CHORWON were the last replacements to reach the 3rd Div after crossing the NAKTONG River on 17 Aug 50.
PW and 15 other men received used rifles (70 rds per rifle) and two (2) grenades when the group was assigned to the 2nd Bn on 17 Aug 50.
PW stated that they were welcomed by the old timers who treated them like old buddies.
US PW’s:PW observed approx 20 US PW’s riding on a struck which was heading north to KYONGSONG on 24 JuJ 50.
