They did not experience any air attacks enroute, however the original group of approximately 400 men dwindled to 350 men due to sickness. Another group of 350 men of the original group also arrived at HYOPCH'ON (侠川) and they were merged at HYOPCH'ON. PW does not know the whereabouts of the third group.

Bridges: All large bridges were damaged and none were repaired. Troops and trucks used temporary bridges.

Intentions:
The objective of the 2nd Div was to capture CH'ANGNYONG but they were defeated in their intentions and the PW heard that the 2nd Div would retreat across the NAKTONG River for the purpose of reorganization and reinforcement. Further details unknown.

Morale and propaganda:
PW believes the morale of the soldiers from North KOREA was still moderately high but the replacements assigned from the "Volunteer" Army was very low. In general, all units were composed mostly of replacements and it was one of the big factors in the lowering of the fighting spirit of the NKPA forces. PW saw propaganda leaflets after crossing the NAKTONG River and he believes that they were very effective in changing the minds of the troops about surrendering to the ROK forces.
