2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was very cooperative and sincere, although information was limited. PW is not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
12 Jul 50 - lnducted into the army at SEOUL.
15 Jul 50 - Departed SEOUL with 1,000 replacements for SUWON (水原). While on the march to SUWON, the unit was under heavy fighter aircraft attack. No casualties occurred. Arrived at SUWON 17 Jul 50. Left SUWON 18 Jul 50 for OSAN (烏山) on foot and on down to P'YONGT'AEK (平澤). Arrived with only 700 of the original 1,000 men on 20 Jul 50. The balance of the men deserted. New replacements were gathered at P'YONGT'AEK and PW was then assigned to a coastal defense unit for possible UN amphibious landing.
1 Aug 50 - Reassigned for front line duty and with approximately 1,500 new replacements headed for CHOCH’IWON (鳥致院) arriving 3 Aug 50.
4 Aug 50 - Departed CHOCH’IWON for KUMSAN on foot and arrived 5 Aug 50. Left KUMSAN 5 Aug 50 for MUJU (撫茂朱) then down to CHANGGYE-Ri (長溪里), arrived 7 Aug 50. Received 4 days more of basic training. Approx 900 men out of the 1,500 man were then assigned to the MASAN (馬山) front. Departed CHANGGYE-Ri 12 Aug 50, for SANCH'ONG (山淸) on foot, arrived 14 Aug 50.
15 Aug 50 - Departed SANCH'ONG for CHINJU (晉州) on foot arriving 17 Aug 50. Remained in town called KAEYANG (開揚) until 13 Sep 50, then was sent to the HAMAN front with 150 others. Reassigned to the 8th Co and performed various duties until ordered to advance on Hill 12 when he deserted and surrendered to UN Forces, 19 Sep 50.

Actual Battle Organization and Strength:
8th Co, 13th Regt approx 100 men. 2nd Plt - 30 men; 3rd Sqd, 8 men.

Last Known Composition of Unit:
8th Co, 13th Regt - approx 90 men; 2nd Plt - 25 men; 3rd Sqd, 5 men.

Disposition:
6th Div Hqs is located in the first RR tunnel on the CHINJUSACH’ON RR south of the CHINJU-PANSONG Junction running NE and SW. The tunnel is approx 300 meters long. The width is approx 25 meters. Height is approx 11 meters. The hill in which the tunnel is located is about 400 meters in height.
6th Div Hqs is located directly in the center of the tunnel. Both ends of the tunnel are stacked with ammunition. Trucks are used to haul ammunition. The rail is torn up and taken out of the tunnel. Ammunition is hauled out thru the NE end of the tunnel and the road used runs parallel to the CHINJU to SACH’ON RR, From the CHINJU to SACH’ON RR Junction to the tunnel is approximately 1,000 meters. On the SW entrance there is a single big tree with 2 or 3 huts around side of it. The RR tracks from the SW side of the tunnel to SACH’ON were ripped up and taken away. PW worked in 6th Div Hqs loading ammunition on trucks up to 13 Sep 50, when he was sent to the front.

4. REMARKS:
PW was too free in his conversation with students that he thought were his friends regarding political matters. He was turned in to the Police and thrown in jail on 9 Jul 50. He was then told that he had one of two choices. Either stand trial or join the army. The trial was just a formality. PW chose to enlist in the NKPA.
