2. ASSESSMENT:
PW appeared to be fairly intelligent. He was cooperative but possessed only limited information. PW considered fairly reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
5 Mar 50 - Conscripted into NKPA, HAMHUNG (咸興). 300 conscripts received 3-months basic military training consisting of dismounted drill, forced marches, manual of arms, military discipline. Fired 2-rounds on range.
21 May 50 - PW and 30 conscripts assigned to 2nd Div KUMCH’ON (金泉). PW assigned to Arty Regt.
1 Jun 50 - 2nd Div left KUMCH’ON on foot
21 Jun 50 - PW promoted to JR. Sgt
25 Jun 50 - 2nd Div arrived in area south of KUMHWA (金華)
26 Jun 50 - 2nd Div crossed 38° Parallel on foot.
O/a 10 Aug 50 - 2nd Div arrived KUMCH’ON (金川) via CH'UNCH'ON (春川), WONJU (原州), CH'UNGJU (忠州). Immediately strafed and bombed by US aircraft. Arty strength reduced to one third. 4 x 76-mm M1939 Guns (horse-drawn) and 3 x 122-mm M1938 Howitzers (truck drawn) remaining in 3rd Bn.
17 Aug 50 - 2nd Div left KUMCH’ON on foot.
23 Aug 50 - 2nd Div arrived at NAKTONG River via KOCH'ANG (居昌), HYOPCH'ON (陜川).
24 Aug 50 - PW promoted from Sgt to Jr Lt to replace Plt Ldr killed in action.
1 2200K Sep 50 - 2nd Div crossed NAKTONG River at point E of CH'OGYE. Arty Regt (14 x 76-mm M1939 Gun and 6 x 122-mm M1938 Howitzers) ferried across river on pneumatic pontoon rafts without incident.
2 1700K Sep 50 - Arty Regt entered PUGOK-Ni (富谷里) behind advancing infantry regiments. Arty positioned in PUGOK-Ni Area.
2-16 Sep 50 - Arty pieces fired 20 rounds each for 2 nights then ran out of rounds. Remained silent until captured. Strafed and bombed by US aircraft.
16 Sep 50 - PUGOK-Ni Area showed with Surrender Leaflets. PW left unit in PUGOK-Ni. Fled into hills west of PUGOK-Ni on east bank, NAKTONG River. There, joined by 16 S. Koreans from 2nd Div who had been conscripted into NKPA.
18 0800 Sep 50 - PW and 16 others surrendered with Surrender Leaflets to US Army units.
Remarks: PW believes 14 x 76-mm M1939 Guns and/or M1938 Howitzers were abandoned by Arty Regt in retreat west. Reason was lack of transportation.

Remarks: Above weapons were displaced by Arty Regt to the west (PW believes west of NAKTONG River) from PUGOK-Ni, 16 Sep 50.
