T/O and E and STRENGTH OF 2ND DIV GUARD PLAT2nd Div was composed of the 4th, 6th, and 17th Rifle Regts, Artillery Regt, Engineer Bn, Signal Bn, AT Gun Bn. SP/G Bn, Training Bn, Medical Bn, Recon Co, Political Plat, and Guard Platoon.

The 2nd. Div Hq, was located by a small lake 3 km E of NAKTONG River W of CHANGNYONG on 16 Sep 50. At 17 0600KSep 50, the Div Commander and 20 other highranking officers creased the NAKTONG River to the W Bank and departed for unknown destination.
PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:Inducted during April 1947 at NANAM. Received infantry training with the 2nd Div, 6th Regt until Nov 47 at NANAM. Transferred to Guard Plat during Nov 47. 2nd Div moved to HAMHUNG during Jul 48. Departed May 50 and arrived HYOPCHON 15 Aug.
On 1 Sep 50, the 2nd Div crossed the NAKTONG River at a ferry point E of HYOPCHON. 2nd Div attacked toward CHANGNYONG and Div Hq was set up at a place 3 km E of the ferry point. On 17 0630KSep 50, the US Forces started a heavy artillery and air attack. Unit dispersed in confusion.
PW and 15 others (including 2 Nurses) were captured by US Soldiers on 17 1000KSep 50 at AN-NI

During Sep 50, numerous recruits Joined 2nd Div, majority of the recruits were South Koreans and were untrained.
ARMOR and ARTILLERY:2 x SU 76's observed on 16 Sep 50, 3 km E of the ferry point E of HYOPCHON. These SU 76's were believed to be the only remaining SPG’s of 2nd Div, SPG Bn.
UN LEAFLETS:The UN Safe Conduct Passes were frequently picked up by the men, but they were told by communists that it war just a trick to lure them near the enemy line so they could be shot.
