ASSESSMENT:
Although the information is limited, it seems reliable.

PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted 1 Aug 48, into the CCF at KIRIN, MANCHURIA. Between Dec 49 and Aug 50, PW fought with the YUKCHON Unit of the 8th Route Army. Between Dec 49 and 15 Feb 50, he was stationed at HANKOW as a garrison trooper. On 15 Feb 50, the PW and 10,000 other Koreans were released from the 8th Route Army and were sent to N Korea. These 10,000 (CCF) troops activated the 7th Division at WONSAN in Apr 50. Between Apr and 16 Jun 50, the 7th Div was training in preparation for War.

FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
The PW heard that the ammo supply for the 7th Div was brought from ANDONG, by trucks under cover of darkness, The ammo supply was completely out off. At time of capture, the infantry troops had about 100 rds each. The 2nd Regt’s artillery and Mortar ammo was exhausted. The troops have been ordered to conserve ammo. Troops could fire their weapons only under the direction of the unit commander.
Food was also brought from ANDONG by trucks at night. Between 8 Sep 50 until taken prisoner, the PW had one meal a day,

ARMOR AND ARTILLERY:
The Division's Arty Regt and SP guns were last seen at PAIKSAN (18 kms N of KYONGJU).
