PW was very cooperative and information seems reliable despite PW’s short military service.
PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:PW and approx 2,000 men were inducted on 7 Jul 50 at HAEJU. On the same day, 3rd Regt, 7th Div was organized at HAEJU. PW and 2,000 men received basic training with wooden rifles until 28 Jul 50. On that day, weapons were issued and the Regt left HAEJU.
Arrived TONGYONG 17 Aug 50.
On night of 17 Aug 50, 1st Bn was surrounded by ROK Marine troops. After 1st Bn suffered heavy casualties, PW and 9 others were captured by ROK Marines at TONGYONG 19 Aug 50.

US PW'S:On 30 Jul 50, PW observed approx 200 UN PW’s near HAN River. They were guarded by ten (10) NKPA soldiers. They were marching toward SEOUL d/u Aug 50 at CHOCHIWON RR Station, PW observed about 100 US PW’s guarded by 4 NKPA troops.
