Engineer Bn was composed of 1st, 2nd, and River Crossing Equipment Company, Machine Plat, Command Plat, Ordnance Section and Bn Rear Command.

c. Remarks:
Due to shortage of land mines, they were usually buried during the night and dug up in the morning. Heard that land mines can be obtained only from TAEJON.
LOCATION & ACTIVITIES OF UNITS:The Engineer Bn was digging in 2 Km East of PUGONG NI, 16 Sep 50.
PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:Inducted 26 March 49, at NANAM. Received one (1) month Infantry Training at NANAM with the 2nd Div. Division moved to HAMHUNG during April 49. Assigned to Engineer on during April 1949.
The Engineer Bn reached PUGONG NI 25 Aug 50.
Informant picked up a UN Safe Conduct Pass, deserted his unit on 15 Sep 50, and surrendered to US 23rd Rct on 17 Sep 50, near PUGONG NI.

Approximately 250 South Koreans and North Koreans joined the Engr Bn, 2nd Div, as replacements during the past month (Aug - Sep 50). These recruits were untrained but were sent immediately to the front.
Heard that many recruits were executed to discourage desertion.
