PW seems confused. With the 13th Division for only 2 days.
PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:Inducted, 14 Aug 50, at PYONGCHANG, South Korea.
PW and 2,000 others departed PYONGCHANG on 17 Aug 50. Arrived PAL KONG SAN 13 Sep 50.
Informant and 40 others joined 13th Division at PAL KONG SAN, 13 Sep 50. The others of the 2,000 who came from PYONGCHANG were located 12 km north of PALGONG SAN. Informant believes that they were the division replacement pool.
Four rifles issued to platoon after reaching combat zone. No other arms seen.
Men received only 3 days training and were not equipped with arms. North Korean troops were eager to receive these replacements.
ARMOR AND ARTILLERY:Approximately 20 artillery pieces (size unknown) were observed along the road approximately 4 km north of PAL KONG SAN o/a 13 Sep 50. The pieces were emplaced and were ready to fire.
