3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
16 Jul 50 - Conscripted at HAEJU and sent to No. 1 Officers Training School at PYONGYANG for about two months.
14 Sep 50 - Finished school and was commissioned a Lt and sent to 43rd Div at HAEJU as a Co CO of the 3rd Co, 2nd Bn, 3rd Regt, 43rd Div arriving on 18 Sep 50.
18 Oct 50 - Deserted unit after arriving at SARIWON and surrendered to the ROK forces.
Unit Organization and Strength:
43rd Div 3rd Regt (1,300 men in Regt). Retreating to PYONGYANG on 18 Oct 50.
Equipment: (3rd Regt)
About 150 sub-machine gun and the rest rifles.
Unit History:
21 Sep 50 - The 43rd Div was organized at HAEJU.
Most of the officers were former students. All EM were formerly farmers who were gathered from the HWANHEDO area.
The Div received orders 16 Oct 50 to retreat to SARIWON but retreated to PYONGYANG instead.
