3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
31 Aug 50 - Informant was conscripted at PYONGYANG (平壞) and assigned to the 348 Tank Regt Hosp.
3 Sep 50 - Arrived SUKCHON (肅川) and performed medical duties.
25 Sep 50 - Arrived KAEJON and gave medical aid to wounded while 348 Tank regt went towards KAESONG (雞井) near IMJIN River.
2 Oct 50 - Went to KUMCHON Hospital and stayed here until he was captured by UN Forces.
Last known composition of unit: All 10 tanks destroyed. Nearly all 600 men captured or deserted.

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of PW and unit was low because of insufficient weapons.
4.GENERAL:There were 5 doctors, 6 nurses and 9 EM in Hosp Unit.
Had sufficient medicines. Had sufficient vaccines except for penicillin and streptomycin which was US made. Used torianon in place of penicillin. Those who had pulmonary tuberculosis and needed streptomycin were sent near PYONGYANG in the mountains where there was plenty of fresh air and clean water.
Patient who received medical treatment here were sent to the army hosp or the central hosp. The latter was a civilian hosp. Both hospitals were in PYONGYANG.
At 348 Tank Regt Hosp, only minor operations were performed. In case patient needed a major operation the doctors gave injections, bandaged the wound and sent the patient to PYONGYANG.
There were no casualties during PW’s period of service.
Most of the drinking water was taken from mountain streams and boiled in vats and then poured in water bags. Once a week a disinfectant called Chlolkali was poured in the bag.
