3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
30 Jul 50 - Inducted at P’YONGYANG Recruit Center (No. 3 P’YONGYANG Middle School)
1 Aug 50 - Entered 2nd Co HWANGJU (廣州) OCS with approximately 320 others, and on 30 Aug 50, all graduated and received commissions as Jr Lts.
On 1 Sep 50, 320 Jr Lts departed, and arrived SEOUL 10 Sep 50
11 Sep 50, Approx 80 Jr Lts and 300 NCO’s went to 109th Security Regt. PW and approx 80 Jr Lts and 300 NCO’s of the 110th SR departed from TAEJON by train.
12 Sep 50 - Arrived TAEJON where the 109th remained.
12 Sep 50 - 110th Security Regt departed on foot and arrived KOCHIANG 16 Sep 50.
17 Sep 50 - 43rd Bn, 110th Security Regt departed from HYOPCH’ON (俠川). 41st, 42nd, and 44th Bns, 110th SR remained.
23 Sep 50 - 43rd Security Bn returned to KOCH’ANG.
24 Sep 50 - 110th Security Regt began to retreat to TAEJON.
25 Sep 50 - At P’YONGCHON (坪亭) PW, 2 Jr Lt’s, 2 NCO’s and 10 laborers separated from 110th Sec Regt, 43 Bn.
27 Sep 50 - PW separated from group near KUMSAN (錦山).
4 Oct 50 - Voluntarily surrendered to police force with Safe Conduct Pass.
Composition of 110th Security Regt as of 11 Sept 50 at SEOUL - 2500 men:
T/O 41st Bn MUJU (茂朱) 500 men
42nd Bn 500 men
43rd Bn HYOPCH’ON (陜川) 500 men
44th Bn KOCH’ANG (居昌) 500 men
There are 3 Co’s in each Bn.
Each Co consists of 3 Plts of 45 men each.
As of 24 Sep 50 at P’YONGCHONG 44th Bn 110th Regt strength was 20 officers and approx 60 NCO’s. No South Koreans were conscripted.
Training Centers:
HWANGJU SECURITY OCS
LOCATION - Approx 1km NE of HWANGJU (黃州) RR Station. Grade school used for quarters.
TRAINING AREA - Approx 2km NE of HWANGJU RR Station.
REQUIREMENT TO ENTER OCS: Over 3 yrs Higher Middle School. OCS students receive 100 NK Won as pay. (Same as NK Pvt)
US PW’s:
30 Jul 50 - PW observed 4 US PW’s wearing fatigues riding a truck which was going toward the West P’YONGYANG RR Station. PW’s were observed passing in front of No 3 P’YONGYANG Middle School. The truck was very clean and showed no sign of long trip.
