PW was cooperative, but limited information on tactical movements obtained. PW seemed to be of mixed blood. Has red hair, complexion white reddish - either had a foreign father or mother. Claims to be pro KIM Il Sung Govt. Reliability of information is fair.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
12 Aug 50 - Conscripted in NKA at CH’ORWON (鐵原), and assigned as ration driver for 2nd Bn, 18th Div.
13 Aug 50 - 18th Div departed for SEOUL, but 2nd Bn remained in CH’ORWON.
14 Aug 50 - Departed CHORWON, by rail - strength 650 men.
15 Aug 50 - Arrived SEOUL and joined the 18th Div with Hq in KYONGGI (京畿) Middle School. Moved to YONHI (𨒂禧) University in SEOUL. Received infantry basic training. Assigned to pick up rations for Unit at MAP’O (麻浦). 3 trips were made to MAPO daily, ration day every 10 days. 100-105 bags of rice each rice day.
19 Sep 50 - During ration run deserted unit, drove truck to CHONGMUL SAN garage, and hid there until SEOUL was liberated by the UN Forces 27 Sep 50.
4 Oct 50 - Surrendered to a ROK Co.
The 18th Div was formerly the 18th Brigade. Date of conversion unknown. Div consisted of two (2) regiments, and strength of each Regt was approximately 1950 men. Personnel is made up of both North and South Korean and their average age is 26 or 27. Rifles and SMG’s were only weapons observed.

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of EM in the unit was low because they were forced into service. If they refused, they would have been thrown in jail and beaten.
