3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
27 Jul 50 - PW conscripted and sent to Officer Training School in PYONGYANG. Commissioned 13 Aug.
17 Aug 50 - PW was assigned as an ass’t Co CO of the 3rd Co, 3rd Bn of the 27th Brig whose Hq was in KUMCHON.
15 Sep 50 - Ordered to battle near ILSAN across Han River from KIMPO Airfield. After 4 days retreated to SONGHYON NI bia PONGILCHON NI and KORANGPO NI.
2 Oct 50 - SONGHYON NI (about 10 days)
12 Oct 50 - Retreated to KUMCHON and found it already invaded by the UN Forces.
Unit Organization and Strength:
3rd HMG Bn was comprised of 7 Cos totaling about 700 men. There were 66 men in the 3rd Co (HMG CO).
Unit History:
635 Unit was activated on the early part of Aug with recruits fresh out of basic training camp throughout NK and with officers who formerly were teachers at Middle School, or student at a University.

Morale and Propaganda:
Propaganda leaflets were at first doubted, however at the end PW figured it would be better to be treated roughly in prison and live, than get shot in battle and die.
