3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:5 Sep 49 volunteered in NKA at CHULSAN and sent to SINUIJU for basic military training for three months.
10 Dec 49 assigned to the 1st Div supply office as a clerk - SINUIJU.
5 Jun 50 commissioned Jr Lt and assigned to the 13 Div Inf Regt Hq as a map maker at SINUIJU.
25 Jun 50 the 13th Div left SINUIJI.
5 Aug 50 for the first time at YUGNONG-NI he and his unit engaged in battle and went as far south as YABU-DONG.
2 Oct 50 PW surrendered to the ROK after he had been separated from his unit at YABU-DONG

Last know composition of unit:
Completely routed and disorganized in the battle of TABU-DONG.
Equipment:
122 mm, 76 mm, 45 mm Arty; 120 mm, 82 mm mortars, HMG and Rifles.
Unit Duties:
Was a reserve unit, until 5 Aug 50.
Unit History:
5 Mar 50, the 13th Div was organized at SINUIJU and was called the No 1 YOUNG MEN DEMOCRATIC PARTY TRAINING SCHOOL.
10 May 50, the No. 1 Young Men Democratic Party Training School was organized as the 13th Div. All men were between 17 - 27 yrs. The officers were mostly picked from other Divs but some were graduates of the officers training school.
25 Jun 50, left SINUIJU arrived at IJONBU and followed the 1st Div as a reserve unit until they reached YUENONG-NO.
5 Sep 50 participated in the battle at YABU-DONG. Div annihilated except for a few that got away.

4. GENERAL:Foreign Elements:
PW observed several Russian Officers wearing military uniforms in the vicinity of the Regt and Div Hq while at SENUIJI.
These Russian Officers were always with Div Hq even after the NK Army crossed the 38th parallel. After crossing the 38th, the Russian Officers changed their uniforms to farmers clothing and stayed with DIv Hq.
Maps:
The NK Army used maps that were produced during the Japanese Occupation of KOREA. The most common maps were the 1: 50,000 and 1: 200,000. PW reproduced maps by hand at Regt Hq.
