3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
5 Feb 50 - PW drafted at HAEJU (海州) and assigned to Garrison Plat attached directly to the 3rd Ind Bn. Received about 6 months Inf training and promoted to Jr Lt.
16 Aug 50 - Trained recruits at HAEJU.
14 Oct 50 - Departed for PYONGYANG.
18 Oct 50 - Captured by UN Forces near SARIWON.

Unit History:
The 3rd Ind Bn was absorbed into the 5th Regt together with 4 other Bns at HAEJU on 25 Sep 50. Regts duty was defense of HAEJU.
Dispositions:
Practically all of the 3rd Bn was either captured or became casualties.
Morale and Propaganda:
Morale was low due to lack of weapons and supplies.
PW saw propaganda leaflets and thought of surrendering he was captured.
