4. GENERAL:
From a distance of 200 meters while marching along road, PW observed two US PsW being shot. This murder took place on a roadside N of SUWON (水原), where the NKA was first counter-attacked by US Forces on 6 Jul 30.
PW stated that there were 38 US PsW lined along the road, including a quite heavy set of soldiers with rimless glasses in the front row who was the only one dressed in Class A Khakis.
Approx 6 Pvt’s of the Ind 18th Inf Regt picked 6 US PsW from the groups of PsW and were ready to shoot them when stopped by a Jr Lt (大尉) who was their Co CO. However, just as they were warned, one of the PvT’s pulled the trigger and murdered two (2) US PsW. The Pvt was orally reprimanded by the Co CO, but he was not calmed. He kept shouting aloud that one of his best friends was just killed in action with the US Forces and therefore all 38 PsW should be killed.
One of the murdered PsW was approx 5’8“, medium build, and had brown hair. PW believed that these were the first PsW of the current Korean War and that the remaining 36 PsW were sent to P’YONGYANG.

Underground Ammunition Story Area at P’YONGYANG:
PW observed the ammunition storage area for 5 days in May 50, while working there. This large ammo storage area was built by the Japanese Army.
Location Located 500 m E of the KAN-Ni (間里) RR Station, which was approx 15 km N of P’YONGYANG.
Area: The storage area covered a vast area of mountain. A RR spur led to the area where the supplies were transported to the dumps by trucks.
Storage: All types of ammunition and projectiles for the NKA weapons were stored in this area. Also M1891/30 type rifles and HMG were stored.
Transportation: PW heard that all the ammunition were manufactured in the USSR.
