3. MILITARY HISTORY:16 Aug 50 - Inducted into the army at WONSAN and assigned to supply squad, 4th Bn, 249th Unit. 249th Hq was located at WONSAN.
7 Oct 50 - 120 soldiers, PW included, departed WONSAN by foot.
14 Oct 50 - Arrived at SHINPO (新浦) and assigned to supply squad, 6th Bn, 249th Unit as a common laborer
19 Oct 50 - 6th Bn departed for KAPUSAN (甲山). On the way to KAPUSAN PW deserted
1 Nov 50 - Captured at WONSAN by 5th Mar Div.
4. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Observed 9 mortars, 3 heavy machine guns, 3 light machine guns, and approximately 400 rifles. Each man had 4-5 hand grenades. Heard that the 249th Unit comprised the 1st to 6th Bns. Strength of 4th Bn was approx 800 men. Strength of 6th Bn was approx. 500 men. Rest of the Bns’ strength was unknown
