2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative and considered of average intelligence. Information seems reliable. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
15 May 49: Volunteered at PYONGYANG and assigned to the 3rd Div as a rifleman. Received basic training for two (2) months.
17 Jul 49: Promoted to Sgt and sent to Democratic Youth League Training Center located at SIN WON-NI. Acted as plat ldr and trained recruits as riflemen. This center was a replacement center for NKA.
28 Oct 49: Was assigned to the NKA Defense Supporters Association as Assistant Chief of Staff. This association was responsible for the training of all youths in the vicinity of SARIWON.
2 Jan 50: Was assigned to same association in SONGHWA.
10 Apr 50: Assigned to a Field Training Bn as company Comdr at SIN WON-NI.
28 Jul 50: Assigned to the 1st Co, 4 Bn, 77 Regt as a Co Comdr.
8 Aug 50: Transferred to the 1st Bn, 74 Regt, after the 77th Regt was pulled out of HAEJU for battle. Assigned as Chief of Staff.
29 Sep 50: PW became the Chief of Staff of 2nd Bn, 66th Regt when the 74th Regt designation was changed to 66th Regt. 2nd Bn was responsible for the defense of NISON and vicinity.
26 Oct 50: While retreating, 2nd Bn scattered after it met a tank force at HAEJU.
19 Oct 50: PW while retreating on foot was captured at CHAIRYONG.

Unit Duties:
43rd Div was responsible for the defense of HWANG HE Do Area.

Unit History:
The 43rd Div was activated at HAEJU o/a 29 Sep 50. Most of unit was believed to have been either captured or annihilated in the vicinity of HAEJU.

Morale & Propaganda:
Morale was low due to lack of training. Most men of unit started deserting after reading propaganda leaflets.

Observed two Russian Officers (Lt Cols) at HAEJU while the 43rd Div was there.
