PW was very cooperative and appeared to be average in intelligence. Due to his short length of service, his information was limited.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
15 Aug 50 - PW was conscripted in HAEJU and assigned to the Ind Security Bn as a Jr Lt and assumed charge of Bn Supply.
14 Oct 50 - PW became Sr Lt and assumed charge of Bn Supply (clothing) of 3rd Bn, 5th Ind Security Regt. 5th Security Regt departed HAEJU.
17 Oct 50 - On its way to PYONGPUK CHOLSAN (平北鉄山), 5th Security Regt encountered elements of UN Forces in vicinity of SARIWON. PW and 2,000 other surrendered.

The 5th Security Regt came directly under the Security Hq, which in turn was under the home Ministry. Strength 6,000 men (approx).
Ind Guard Plat - 43 men, Ind Eng Co - 135 men, Ind Anti-Tank Co - 135 men, Ind Recon Co - 135 men, Ind Sanitation Co -135 men, Ind Comm Co - 135 men, 1st-2nd-3rd and 4th Security Bn - 900 men each and Arty Bn (43mm, 82mm) - 900 men.
Equipment of 5th Security Regt (as of 14 Oct 50):
12 HMG (approx), 28 LMG (approx) and 2 Trucks.
The Regt did not possess any large calibre weapons, despite the presence of the Arty Bn. There were not enough rifles to go around.
Unit History:
The 5th Ind Security Regt was activated on 27 Sep 50 in HAEJU with an approx strength 0f 6,000 men. Prior to this date the unit was known as the HAEJU Ind Bn with strength of 1,500.
