2. ASSESSMENT:
Information is fairly reliable, informant was cooperative.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
2 Aug 50 - PW was drafted and assinged to 2nd Bn PYONGYANG RR Brig as the Asst Operation Staff Officer at SUNCHON.
14 Oct 50 - At YANGDOK, 2nd Bn of the PYONGYANG RR Brig was attached to the 1st Inf Div as the 2nd Bn of the 3rd Regt.
18 Oct 50 - The 3rd Bn was routed and PW was captured when he attempted to flee north.

Unit Organization and Strength:
This was a regimental setup, however it was called the 1st Div, since there were numerous men who had fought in the south with the former 3rd Regt of the 1st Div and after the destruction of the Div were regrouped in this unit. In addition to PW’s Bn there were two other Bns, personnel of which were mostly veterans of this war.
There were approx 756 men in the 2nd Bn.

Last known composition of Unit:
About 450 men escaped death or injury, after the terrific battle 12 km South of YANGDOK on 18 Oct.

Equipment: (2nd Bn) as of 14 Oct 50.
6 LMG and 16 Sub-machine guns.

Unit History:
The 3rd Regt was reactivated on the 14th of Oct 50 at YANGDOK.

Personalities:
2nd Bn CO - LEE, Myong Ho, Lt Col, Age -29. Graduate of PYONGYANG Officer Training School. Was wounded at YANGDOK and taken to field hospital.
3rd Regt CO - KIM, Man Shi, Col, Age about 35. Former soldier of the Manchurian Army. Instructor at PYONGYANG OTS.
3rd Regt Political Officer - T, Chang, Lt Col, Age - 28. Former soldier in the Manchurian Army.

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale was low due to lack of weapon and trained men. Propaganda leaflets was very effective.
