3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
1 Aug 50: Conscripted and assigned to the rear reconstruction Regt at CHROWON.
9 Oct 50: PW & two others deserted his unit and hid at TOSUNG Li.
11 Oct 50: PW surrendered to the ROKA.
Unit Organization & Strength: (Rear Reconstruction Regt)
PW knows of 9 Reconst Bns. There wore approx 400 men in one Reconst Bn. 3 Cos made up a Bn.
Equipment of a Reconst Bn as of 30 Jul 50:
10 winches; eight concrete mixers; nine electric motors (10 HP); three elec motors (15 HP); five elec motors (7 HP); five kero-motors (10 HP); and seven kero-motors (7 HP). Also five water pumps (4 in. Dia); three water pumps (6 in Dia); four water pumps (3 in. Dia); and 21 water pumps (5 in. Dia). Also wire rope - 600 M.
Unit Duties:
Were to repair damaged bridges and roads in the rear areas.
Unit History:
1 Aug 50: The Rear Reconstruction Regt was activated at CHORWON with 9 Bns.
8 Oct 50: The Regt was routed in battle.

Morale & Propaganda:
Morale of unit was low. Propaganda leaflets were effective. The demoralized men and made them surrender.
