PW was very cooperative, but the information was limited, due to his short length of service. Information seems reliable.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
17 Sep 50: Conscripted in CHINNAMPO (鎭南浦) and assigned to CHINNAMPO Marine Brig (239 Unit). PW did not receive any basic training.
7 Oct 50: Commissioned Jr Lt and assigned to 3rd Bn as assistant supply officer.
12 Oct 50: PW and another soldier departed CHINNAMPO and arrived at ONGJIN (瓮津) to obtain clothing.
16 Oct 50: Passing through SARIWON (沙里院) on the way to PYONGYANG, PW observed UN Forces advancing. PW abandoned his truck and fled.
17 Oct 50: PW surrendered.

Chinnampo Marine Brig (839 Unit) - 7,240 men. Consisting of Indep Comm Co - 200 men; Indep Medics Co - 200 men; Indep Engr Co - 200 men; Indep Trans Co - 200 men; and an Indep Band Plat -40 men.
Actual battle Organization & Strength: Same as above.
Equipment of 3rd Marine Bn only (as of 12 Oct 50):
Two trucks; two mortars (82mm); six HMG’s; six HMG’s; three LMG’s; 20 sub-MG’s and seven field telephones.

The marine Brig (239 Unit) was assigned the Defense of CHINNAMPO (鎭南浦) Harbor against invasion.
Unit History:
The Marine Brig (239 Unit) was activated on Sep 49 in CHINNAMPO under orders of the Navy Department with an estimated strength of 7,000 men, The original men were apparently transferred elsewhere, since the majority of the members were new conscriptees when PW joined this unit in 17 Sep 50.
