3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
6 Oct 50: Conscripted at HAEJU commissioned Lt and assigned to the 3rd Co, 3rd Bn, 5th Ind Regt as Executive Officer.
14 Oct 50: The 5th Ind Regt left HAEJU on foot.
18 Oct 50: The whole Regt was captured at YONGJU.
Unit Organization & Strength:
5th Ind Regt. 5 Bns each Bn consisted of 4 Cos.
Equipment:
PW believes that only 15% of the unit was armed with rifles.
Unit History:
Unit was believed to have been activated in Sep 50 at HAEJU. All men of unit were inducted from the vicinity of HAEJU.
Morale & Propaganda:
Morale of unit low due to forced induction. Did not see propaganda leaflets.
