3. MILITARY HISTORY:
24 Sep 50 - Inducted into the army at PYONGYANG and assigned to 3rd Co, Engr Bn, 503 Unit.
Received basic training about 25 days.
19 Oct 50 - 503 Unit’s Engr Bn departed by trucks.
20 Oct 50 - Arrived at KANG DONG GUN (江東郡) approx 22km N E of PYONGYANG.
21 Oct 50 - Retreated toward PYONGYANG because UN Forces were sighted.
22 Oct 50 - Deserted from his unit at KANGDONG.
29 Oct 50 - Captured at KOCHON MYON.

5. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
503 Unit Engr Bn’s mission was to lay land mines to stop the advance of UN Forces’ tanks at KANDONG, but they were unsuccessful in this because of the unexpected arrival of UN Forces. They took the land mines with them when they retreated toward PYONGYANG.
