The following is a consolidation of pertinent information contained in PW Interrogation Reports as listed below:

1128CHAE Rin Kak (崔麟珏)Lt, 45th Tank Regt, (346th Indep Regt) Hqs 45th Tank Rank was activated o/a 25 Aug 50, at HAEJU with 600 newly inducted troops. Up until 23 Sep 50, the unit was armed with rifles only. (1 x Rifle per 5 x men). In Aug 50, the Russian Military Advisor attached to the unit left for SIBERIA to get arms. (Did not return).
 Prior to deserting the unit, the PW overheard his Regt CO saying that the unit will retreat to SINUIJU, then into MANCHURIA from where they will conduct guerrilla warfare.

  KIM, Hwa Ku (김화구) Maj, Unit Supply Officer.
 The Unit was not issued winter clothing. Because of the shortage of clothing, every family (North Korean) was compelled to make clothing for the Army.
 When the Chinese Communists took over MANCHURIA in 1949, all the people of Christian faith were rounded up. A large percentage of them were sent to forced labor camps. Catholics in SINUIJU, during 1950, were tried and sentenced by the North Koreans.
1129MIN, Chang Hyon (金昌鉉) Pvt, 571st Bn (APO 2470), 3rd Co. Mission of the 571st Bn was to supply weapons and ammo to front lines.
1130CHON, Yong Tok (全永德) Jr Sgt, 25th Independent Inf Regt (code 632 unit), Transportation Co.
1131WON, SOng Kil (元承吉) Pvt, 43rd Div, 74th Regt (code 566 unit), 3rd Bn, 8th Co.
 8th Company personnel numbered 130 including 6 officers. The company did not have HMG’s although it had a HMG Platoon.
 O/A 17 Oct 50, the 74th Regt withdrew from SINWONI under cover of darkness to SARIWON.

1132U WAN HI (禹完熙) Sr Sgt, 19th Div, 35th Regt, SMG Company.
 35th Regiment (code 559 “KUM BUTAI”) also known as the 3rd Regiment.
 35th Regiment composed of the following units and personnel:
   (1) SMG Company (81 SMG’s)86
   (2) 45 mm Gun Company (6 guns)64
   (3) 76 mm Gun Company (6 guns)96
   (4) Engineer Company64
   (5) 120 m Mortar Company (3 guns)64
   (6) Signal Company64

 The 19th Division and the 35th Regiment headquarters were located in SINGYE prior to 14 Oct 50.
 The 19th Division was to withdraw to SUAN and set up defenses there if and when, SINGYE fell.
 PW conscripted 16 Aug 50 into the 559th “GUN BUTAI” Regiment at PYONGYANG. The regiment departed for CHONGHO RI on the same day.
 Unit was designated 35th Infantry Regiment, 19th Division, 18 Sep 50.
 Regiment first saw action in KUHHWA RI (6 Oct 50) and was practically annihilated.
  CHONG, HAE KYONG (丁海京) Capt, CO, SMG Co.
1133CHONG, Song Hyon (鄭承鉉) Pvt, 10th RR Constabulary Brigade, 7th Bn, 3rd Co.
 10th Brigade composed of 10 x Railroad Guard Bns, numbered 1 to 10.
 7th Battalion composed of 4 x Railroad Guard Companies (activated 8 Aug 50).
 3rd Company originally had 168 EM and 6 officers.
 On 10 Oct 50, 7th Battalion Headquarters was located at INCHON.
 Between 14 Aug 50 to 14 Sep 50, 7th Battalion was guarding the Railroad line between YANGPYONG and YANGDOGWON NI.
  LEE, JONG CHOL (李鐘喆) Sr Lt, CO, 3rd Co.
1134KIM, Chang Il (金昌日) Pvt, 8th Div, 7th Regt, 6th Bn, 3rd Co.
 3rd Co departed SUNUIJU on 30 Aug 50 for KUMCHON arrived there o/a 9 Sep.
1135PAEK, Ik Sam (白翼三) Kr Sgt. 43rd Div, 473rd Engr. Bn, Rear Echelon Unit.
 Rear Echelon Unit is composed of the Food, Clothing, and Miscellaneous items Supply Sections.
 Departed PYONGYANG on 28 Sep 50, and arrived at HAEJU on 30 Oct 50.
  KIM, HO CHAN (김호찬) Jr Lt, Food Supply Sec Ldr
 Pw repeatedly saw leaflets dropped from UN aircraft at HAEJU between 3 to 14 Oct 50 and these leaflets helped him decide to desert.
 It is a widespread rumor throughout North Korea that Premier Kim, IL SUNG murdered his wife (who was daughter of a famous Korean novelist named HONG, MYONG HI) on 25 Sep 50, because he was fleeing from PYONGYANG and did not want to take her with him and was afraid she might disclose his hiding place and personal secrets to the UN forces.
1136KIM, YU BONG (金有鳳) Jr Lt, 74th Ind Regt, 2nd Bn, HMG Co, HMG Company originally consisted of 53 EM and 5 officers.
 2nd Battalion was heading toward SARIWON form ILSIN MYON to reorganize on 16 Oct 50.
 PW heard that the 1st and 3rd Battalion were annihilated o/a 15 Sep 50 at YONAN.
 PW was inducted into the 4th Div, 2nd Infantry Battalion (No Regt), 6th Company at CHINAMPO on 16 Oct 48. On 6 Jun 50, 4th Div, 2nd Inf Bn, 6th Company was reorganized into 4th Div, 5th Regt, 1st Bn, 1st Company at PYONGYANG.
 The 4th Division went south from CHINNAMPO on 20 Jun 50. On 12 Jul 50, 6 EM from 4th Division and 13 officers and an unknown number of EM from unknown Divisions activated the 74th Independent Regiment at HAEJU. All EM were commissioned officers.
  CHOE, SAN GYUN (최상균) Maj, CO, 2nd Bn.
  HONG, YONG PYO (洪永杓) Lt, CO, HMG Co.
1137KIM, Yong Jin (金永鎭) Pvt, 97th Rifle Regt, (code 578 unit), 1st Bn, 82 mm Mortar Co.
 The 97th Rifle Regt was composed of 9 - Rifle Bns (numbered from 1st to 9th). The 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th were called “reserve battalions” and were sent to the other regiments as replacements.
 T/O of each rifle Bn, approx. 560 men and 40 officers. Approx. 60% of troops with 97th Regt were South Korean. 70 casualties were suffered by 1st Bn at YONAN on 11 Oct 50.
 On 13 50, the 1st Bn was in defensive position near TANGNYONGNI as rear guard for 97th Regt which was retreating from MOKPAN MYON to CHAERYONG.
  LEE, Chung Ha (李仲化) Lt, CO Mortar Co, 1st Bn.
1138CHOE, Hi Paek (崔羲栢) Jr lt, 74th Regt, 2nd Bn, HMG Company.
 The 74th Regiment was formerly the 587th Reserve Regiment.
 HMG Company consisted of 54 EM and 5 officers. No HMG’s were available and company was used as a rifle company.
 The 74th Regiment Hq was located at WOLLONG MYON o/a 10 Oct 50.
 The 2nd Battalion of the 74th Regt departed WOLLONG MYON and arrived at YONAN 10 Oct 50 support an unidentified regiment defending the PAEKCHON region.
 This regiment, however, retreated toward YONAN before the 2nd Battalion could be committed to its support.
 The 2nd Battalion fought alongside this regiment at YONAN and retreated together toward SARIWON on 13 Oct 50.
 The 1st and 3rd Battalions, 74th Regt had remained in MOLLONG MYON but joined the 2nd Bn at YONAN, 12 Oct 50.
  Pak, Kun Ho (박근호) Sr Capt, CO, 2nd Bn.
  YUN, Song Il (윤승일) Sr Lt, CO, HMG Co.
 Approximately 20,000 blankets made in PEKING were distributed to the officers of the NK Army during the early part of October 1950.
 There was a rumor that HUNGARIAN Doctors arrived at PYONGYANG in Sep 50 and had brought a field hos[ital with them to help the NK Army wounded.
1139PAK, Pin Chun (朴浜春) Pvt, 817th Independent Enginner Co.
 Engineer Company originally consisted of 105 EM and 50 officers.
 No weapons were carried. The Engineer Company was engaged in digging defenses and Arty Gun positions in the NAMCHON Sector 13 Oct 50.
  HONG, Chae Do (洪在道) Lt, CO, 817th Co. 
1140YU, Song Hak (柳承学) Pvt, 55th Arty Regt, 2nd Bn, Food Supply Plat APO 9516
 55th Arty Regt composed of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns.
 2nd Bn composed of 4th, 6th and other Unknown companies, Supply Plat and Signal Plat.
 Regt Hq was located on a mountain approx. 16 Km NE of HAEJU until 11 Oct 50.
 PW heard from his platoon leader that 2nd Bn was to go to MANCHURIA via PYONGYANG.
1141KIM, Chong Hak (金鐘鶴) Jr Lt, 635th Regt, 2nd Bn (HMG Bn), 1st Rifle Co.
 The 635th Regt was composed of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th HMG Battalions.
 Each Battalion was composed of 2 x Rifle Companies, 2 x HMG Companies, 1 x 82mm Mortar Co, 1 x Engr Co, 1 x 45mm Gun Plat, 1 x AT Rifle Plat, 1 x Sniper Platoon, 1 x Signal Plat, 1 x Supply Plat and 1 x Medical Section.
 Each Rifle Co consisted of 3 x Rifle Platoon & 1 x HMG Platoon (142 EM and 6 officers).
 Equipment included 64 LMG’s
 Each HMG Company consisted of 2 x HMG Platoons (approx 66 EM and 4 officers)
 Mortar Company: 1 x 82mm mortar, 66 EM, 4 officers (approx)
 Engineer Company: 57 EM, 3 officers (approx)
 45mm Gun Platoon: 1 AT gun, 29 EM, 1 officer (approx)
 AT Rifle Platoon: 4 x 14.5mm AT Rifles, 27 EM 1 officer
 Sniper Platoon: Approx 19 EM, 1 officer
 2nd Bn, 635th Regt suffered heavy casualties while fighting near SONGHAK Mt o/a 6 Oct 50.
  CHU, Gyo Taek (秋交沢) Sr Lt, Co, 1st Rifle Co.
