1 May 48 - Inducted at CH’ONGJIN (淸津). Assigned to 4th Bn, 10th RR Guard Brigade.
16 Nov 48 - Promoted to Sgt (中士), Transferred to MUNSAN (茂山) and assigned tunnel guard duties.
7 Feb 50 - Promoted to Jr Lt (少尉) at YANGDOK (陽德). Duty as NAE DONG (內洞) tunnel guard Plt Ldr.
28 Jun 50 - Transferred to CH'ONGNYANG-Ni (淸涼里). RR station Guard.
20 Aug 50 - Promoted to Capt (總尉) with duty as Culture Officer at 8th Bn, 10th RR Guard Brigade.
22 Sep 50 - at ANDONG (安東) demoted to Lt (少尉) because PW's father was an anti-Communist in MANCHURIA.
23 Sep 50 - 8th Bn, 10th RR Guard Brig arrived TANYANG (丹陽).
24 Sep 50 - PW deserted from 8th Bn, 10th RR Guard Brig with 8th Bn's Labor Party member list.
25 Sep 50 - Voluntarily surrendered to ROK unit and gave them the list at 2 km W of PUNGGI (豐基)
Composition of Unit:
10th RR Guard Brigade organized Mar 46 at P’YONGYANG. Code Number was 3159 until o/a 20 Aug 50. New number, unknown. Strength of 10th RR Guard Brigade, approx 4,300 men. Hq at CH’ONGNYANG-NI (淸涼里) District, SEOUL. Brigade composed of 12 battalions.
1st Bn Hq - P'YONGYANG (Secure SINUIJU-HAEJU (海州) Area. 770 men distributed among 4 Cos.
2nd Bn Hq - SUNCH'ON (順天). (Secure P'YONGYANG-CH'ONSONG (天城) Area - 770 men
3rd Bn Hq - WONSAN (元山), (Secure CHON-GOK (全谷) - CH'ONSONG (天城) Area - 770 men.
4th Bn Hq - CH'ONGJIN (淸津) (Secure WONSAN-NAJIN (羅津) Area - 770 men
Following Bn's were added to the 10th RR Security Brigade after 25 Jun 50:
5th Bn Hq - HONGWON (洪原) (Secure HONGWON- WONSAN) 770 men
(This battalion had additional duties of guarding the sea coast from HONGWON to WONSAN).

Formerly a division political officer in the 8th Route Army at YONGAN (寧安), MANCHURIA. Returned to P’YONGYANG, Jan 46, Became CG, 10th RR Gd Brg o/a 15 Nov 47. CG was inspecting TAEJON Area at the time of INCH’ON Landing. PW heard from Bn CO that CG had left SEOUL o/a 16 Aug 50. CG planned to make inspection of TAEJON, ANDONG, and return to SEOUL. CG is slim and nearly 6 ft tall, wore glasses, speaks good
Chinese, speaks Korean with KYONGSANG-PUKTO accent.

Intention:
O/a 25 Sep 50, 10th RR Security Brig Hq was located at SEOUL but retreated to P’YONGYANG.
Ammunition Dump:
Ammunition dump is located in the YONGSONG (龍城) District, approx 10 km N of P‘YONGYANG.
Location: approx 2km E of YONGSONG RR Station are 5 or 6 large warehouses at the foot of the hill. Rifle and Arty ammunition are stored in the warehouses. Ammunition is brought to YONGSONG RR Station and sent to HAEJU (海州) Area.
Arms from USSR:
PW heard from 8th Bn CO, 10th RR Guard Brig that around Apr 50, tanks were sent to various parts of North KOREA through HONGUI (洪義) from VLADIVOSTOCK.
