PW appeared to be unintelligent, He was cooperative, however possessed only limited military information due to early separation from his unit. Information considered fairly reliable.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
10 May 48 - Volunteered for NKA, SINUIJU (新義州). Assigned 4th Div, Div Arty Regt, CHINNAMP’O (鎭南浦). Received basic military training.
2 Jan 49 - PW promoted to Sgt (sqd ldr).
31 May 49 - Commissioned Jr Lt (Plt Ldr).
2 Jul 50 - Left CHINNAMP’O.
15 Aug 50 - Arrived TAEJON. Joined advancing 4th Div Inf. At TAEJON, PW received burns (US napalm bombs), and hospitalized at ⅠCorps Field Hospital, TAEJON.
16 Aug 50 - 4th Div left TAEJON, advancing south. PW remained behind.
25 Sep 50 - ⅠCorps Field Hospital ordered dissolved, PW instructed to proceed to CHOCH’IWON (鳥致院) for rail transportation north.
26 Sep 50 - PW and one (1) other walking patient left TAEJON.
O/a 28 Sep 50 - FW's party by-passed E of CHOCH'IWON (fighting in progress within city), and continued north.
29 1100 K Sep 50 - PW and companion captured, 4 km S of CH’ONAN, by ROK Army unit.

Used by CO only.
ON visual targets, plat ldrs directed fire control of respective plats. On unobserved targets, Btry CO directed fire, usually from Bn OP in conjunction with Bn CO. Unknown if mass fire possible by Btry or Bn (PW possessed only elementary artillery knowledge). Usually two (2) forward observers dispatched from Btry. Wire communication used.
Medical:
ⅠCorps Field Hospital, TAEJON: Building marked with red cross insignia. Hospital Staff Composition unknown. 15 Aug - 25 Sep 50, average of 1,000 patients (75% litter cases, 25% walking) hospitalized here. Two (2) days average hospitalization period, thence removed by trucks to rear (SEOUL). 50 to 60 wounded admitted daily. Death rate among wounded, 1/5 of 1%. 25 Sep 50, hospital dissolved. Ambulatory patients evacuated by truck north. Others, unknown.
