Subordinate to GHQ were I Corps, II Corps and III Corps. Except for several independent brigades, the NK Army had no units larger than divisions until June 50, at which time the three corps were activated by assigning a minimum of) divisions per corps (PW does not know which divisions were assigned to the respective corps).
GHQ, itself, was composed of the following:

Intendance Bureau:
The Intendance Bureau was composed of the Food, Clothing, Construction, Finance, General Affairs, and Civilian Relief Sections.
All Bureau Chiefs held the rank of Sr Col.
Each Section chief held the rank of Lt Col.

PW feels certain that the Intendance Bureau still has its original strength.
LOCATION & ACTIVITIES OF UNIT:Advanced GHQ was established in the SEOUL Capitol Building as of 15 Jul 50. By 25 Jul 50 all elements of Adv GHQ had completed their movement to SEOUL from their former location at PYONGYANG (opposite the PYONGYANG Radio Broadcasting Station in what had once been the Japanese 49th Div Hq).
Adv GHQ was composed of approx 2,000 persons half of whom were officers.
During Jul 50, a division was activated at PYONGYANG and designated the "SEOUL DIV." It was composed of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Rifle Regts, plus an Arty Regt. The "SEOUL DIV" had approx 10,000 men, most of whom had received at least 2 months of training. All elements of the SEOUL DIV had arrived at SEOUL by 39 Jul 50.

Inducted on 6 Dec 47, at PYONGYANG. Trained for 3 months there as an infantryman, then assigned as a clerk in the 1st Div, 2nd Regt, 1st Bn which was located at PYONGYANG.
On 26 Oct 48, PW was appointed to the PYONGYANG Officers Academy (OCS) located about 8 Km east of PYONGYANG in a village called SADONG, PW graduated from the Intendance Course of the academy on 12 Oct 49 and was commissioned as a Jr Lt with 150 other Intendance Course graduates. Upon graduation, PW was assigned to the Clothing Section, Rear Echelon Unit, 1st Div, which was still located at PYONGYANG. PW was then promoted to Lt in Nov 49.
In May 50, PW was transferred to the Clothing Section, Intendance Bureau, GHQ, whereupon he was immediately promoted to Capt.
Arrived SEOUL on 24 July.

FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:No food supplies were delivered from North Korea after Jul 50. Prior to that time approx 50 trucks transported rice from PYONGYANG daily to SEOUL daily. From SEOUL the rice was sent south to be distributed to the front line units. The rice was not brought to Adv GHQ prior to being sent from SEOUL, however.
Ammo was transported from PYONGYANG to SEOUL on trucks and trains. During Sep very little ammo trickled into SEOUL.
US PW’S:Observed approx 1,000 US PW’s in a Primary School at SEOUL (approx 150 meters SE of the Capital Building) during Jul 50. The US PW’s were sent to PYONGYANG, by train, during the latter part of Jul 50. PW does not know to which part of PYONGYANG they were sent. PW was told by a Sr Capt (name unknown) in the #1 Bureau (plans, operations & training) of Adv GHQ that an American Major General was sent through SEOUL to PYONGYANG during the first part of Sep 50.
GENERAL INFORMATION:Production of winter uniforms for the NK Army was begun at SEOUL during Jul 50. Winter clothing was to be distributed to the various corps during Oct 50.
