The Truck Maintenance Unit of the 102nd Security Regt was in actual operation for a period of 15 dyas in CHONJU (전주). It was equipped with 1 acetylene torch, 1 cylinder of oxygen and approximately 10 wrenches. It was impossible to obtain gasoline and the only fuel available was 2 drums of alcohol. 2 NISSAN trucks were operated on wood and charcoal.
The US 2/4 ten truck was being repaired by the Maintenance Unit on 26 Sep 50, but it was abandoned in CHONJU. PW believed all other vehicles were probably abandoned by the various units due to lack of fuel.

It was passable during the winter without clearing snow if vehicles were equipped with chains. 3. P’YONGYANG-WONSAN: A 6 m wide gravel road with numerous sharp curves. The road was constructed over undulating terrain and it was possible for a wood burning truck to traverse this road with freight less than a ton. Road conditions during the rainy season were fair and it was passable during the winter. A concrete bridge 150 m long is located at KANGDONG (910-1830) (江東) and another concrete bridge 200 m long is located at CHANGIM-Ni (長林里) (930-1850).
