2. ASSESSMENT:
Education 6 yrs. PW was conscripted into the N Korean Army, 14 Aug 50. Was holding a defensive position at KYONGSONG when UN forces overran the position. Got frightened and hid in a dugout until UN forces found him. Was of average intelligence and Info obtained may be considered fairly reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
When conscripted, was assigned to the 563 Inf Unit. This unit was guarding the seashore at WONSON until ordered to KYONGSONG, arriving there on 19 Sep 50.

Equipment:
Possible equipped with LMG & Rifle, Soviet make.

Unit Duties:
Guard duty in WONSON.

Unit History:
563 Unit was guarding the WONSON area from 14 Aug to 18 Sep 1950 to guard the shores from being attacked by UN forces. Came to KYONGSONG on 19 Sep 1950 to guard KYONGSONG but was overrun by UN forces on 23 Sep 50.

Dispositions:
945 Arty Unit at WONSON stayed there when 563 Unit came to KYONGSONG. Air Corps Unit at WONSON receiving ground training. No planes observed.

Personalities:
Lt HANG, Kuck Song, 3rd Company Commander of 563 Unit.
Lt Col AN NAN Hun, Battalion Commander.

4. GENERAL:
Wonson Shore Area:
PW was stationed at WONSON from 14 Aug to 18 Sep 50 with the 563rd Inf Unit. This Unit was on a defensive position on a hill located approx 4 km N of WONSON City and 2,300 m W of the shore line. The 1st Bn was dug in the hills with the ammo dump located between the 2nd and 3rd Co. The unit was in holes along aide the hills racing the sen shore.
A trench approx 12 km long was dug between the defensive position and the shore. This trench was 300 m inland from the seashore and mines were laid here on the 300 m strength of land, between the trenches and the sea. The mines were laid for 12 km. The 3rd Bn was stationed in WONSON. City area and the 2nd Bn was stationed at MUNCHON.
Several small islands were located approx 10 km N of the defensive positions and it is believed that the 945 Arty Unit was and is still stationed there.
