2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was intelligent, very cooperative and observant. He was a member of the Communist’s Youth League prior to induction in the NKA. Reliability of information is good.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
20 Mar 47: PW volunteered for the NKA in HAMHUNG (咸興). Assigned to RR Gurard Bn. He performed guard duty for approximately 1 yr and 10 mos.
10 Jan 49: Selected as a candidate for OCS. He passed all the requirements and was enrolled in 1st OCS at SADONG (寺洞) 4 km E of P’YONGYANG (平壤). Graduated in 24 Oct 49, and was commissioned Jr Lt. The total no. of graduates was 2,400 men from 24 companies.
24 Oct 49: Assigned to 5th Ind Brigade, 1st Bn, 1st Co, 1st Plt as a plat ldr. Unit guarded RR between P’YONGYANG and WONSAN (元山). Guard duty for 40 days.
4 Dec 50: Transferred to 1st Ind Brigade, 3rd Bn, 8th Co, 2nd Plt as a plt ldr. Detailed to patrol YANGYANG (襄陽) Area. 40 men in 2nd Plt.
24 Feb 50: hospitalized in WONSAN (元山) with yellow jaundice. Released 20 Jul 50 and sent to YANGDOK (陽德) to convalesce.
24 Jul 50: PW and 4 other officers were ordered to SEOUL (서울). Assigned to 104th Security Regt, 21st Bn, 2nd Co as Co CO and promoted to the rank of Lt, 25 Jul 50. The primary duties of this unit was to maintain the security of occupied areas.
23 Sep 50: 104th Security Regt Hq was located in PYOKSONG-Ni (璧城里) 6 km N of TONGYONG. Received orders to retreat to CHINJU (晉州) and arrived there 24 Sep 50. Unable to locate higher headquarters, he ordered his men to withdraw to MUJU (茂朱).
23 Sep 50: He released 100 South Koreans who had been conscripted in his unit and together with toe Co officers and 60 NKA regulars headed for CH’UP’UNG Nyong (秋風嶺) where ammunition was stored. however, US troops were there and they waited till ROK soldiers appeared. Due to inability to speak English they preferred to surrender to the ROK soldiers.

Strategic Information:
Target:
In P’YONGYANG there is a rifle manufacturing plant located in building formerly used by the Japanese government for repairing locomotives, located 500 meters W of P’YONGYANG main RR station. Plant employed approximately 6,000 men and women. At the present time the NK Government is manufacturing the following:
1. ВН’МОКА - 41 rifle
Identical to m1891/30 rifle
2. АФМОUАZК tommy gun (SMG)
Identical to PPsh M1941
3. TT Automatic pistol
Amount of production is unknown.
