3. CHRONOLOGY:Mar 43 - Moved into MANCHURIA, CHILIN-SHENG, TUNHUA-HSIEN, NANLIU-MIAO-TZUSHANTAO (滿洲 吉林省 敦化縣 南柳苗 十三道) from KOREA. Worked as farmer.
Nov 49 - Conscripted into the CCF.
Dec 49 - Sent to KANGHSI (康西) CHINA. Assigned to 146th Div, 456th Regt, 3rd Bn, 1st Co, 3rd Plat, 2nd Sqd of CCF. Security detail in KANGHSI (康西) area, CHINA.
Mar 50 - 3rd Bn, 456th Regt, 146th Div was transferred to CHENGCHOU (鄭州) CHINA for reorganization. PW assigned to 534th Regt (900 Koreans) and sent to P'YONGYANG (平壤) KOREA.
2 Oct 50 - Captured at OKCH'ON (洪川).
4. FORMER CHINESE COMMUNIST UNIT
UNIT COMPLEMENT TRANSFERRED TO KOREA
3rd Bn of 156th CCF Div (Korean nationals) was shipped to KOREA via CHENGCHOU (鄭州).
PAY OF PERSONNEL
Pvt received 5,000 yuan per month and an officer received 12,000 yuan per month.
CCF MOVE TO MANCHURIA
Approx 100,000 CCF troops moved into MANCHURIA in 1946.
CHINESE RECRUITING IN MANCHURIA
Men between the ages of 18 and 36 was automatically drafted into the army.
TANK UNITS IN CCF
Observed a tank unit at CHIAOHUA (敎化) MANCHURIA.
11 US talks were observed in May 47, type unknown.
ATTITUDE OF CIVILIAN POPULATION
Civilians seemed to favor the CCF.
