PW was in good physical condition at time of interrogation. PW was a farmer prior to being inducted into the NKA. PW was cooperative and of average intelligence. Information obtained is considered fairly reliable. Not recommended for further interrogation. Interrogated by the 24th Div, 1 PW Team, 15 Nov 50.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:a. Chronology:
PW inducted 12 Aug 50 at SINUIJU and received approx 50 days of training at UIJU (XE3050) with the 2nd Regt (Div unk). 9 Oct 50, PW's Bn moved to SINUIJU. The Bn departed SINUIJU by train and arrived at CHOLSAN (XE4303) o/a 20 Oct 50 and was assigned to the 47th Div. 2nd Regt 47th Div departed CHOLSAN by foot and arrived at KUSONG (XE9228) o/a 28 Oct 50. On 4 Nov 50, the 2nd Bn, 2nd Regt retreated to SAKCHU (XE7473) and later moved to YONGBYON (YE4011) o/a 7 Nov 50. 10 Nov 50, the 2nd Bn, 2nd Regt arrived at SORINMYON
(YE3005). PW deserted his unit on the night of 10 Nov and surrendered 14 Nov 50.
b. Unit Organization and Strength:
PW heard from his Co Comdr that the 47th Div consisted of 3 Regts. The 2nd Regt consisted of 3 Bns. PW also heard from a member of the 3rd Bn, 2nd Regt that the 3rd Bn was annihilated at KUSONG. The 2nd Bn consisted of 3 Rifle Cos, HMG Co, Mortar Co, and Sig Plat. PW heard that approx 400 men remained in the 2nd Bn out of the original 670 men. The 5th Co had an original strength of 120 men but when PW deserted his unit it was reduced to 90 men (due to casualties).
c. Equipment:
5th Co had 2 HMGs, 9 LMGs, 2 Mortars (size unk), 17-18 SMGs, and unk number of Russian rifles. HMG Co had 12 HMGs. The Mortar Co had 3 mortars (size unk).
d. Disposition:
Prior to deserting his unit, PW heard from his Co Comdr that the 47th Div CP was located in vicinity of PALWONMYON (YE1518).
e. Armor and Artillery:
On or about 4 Nov 50, PW observed 3 to 4 truck drawn field pieces (size unk) at SAKCHU (XE7473) heading towards KUSONG.

g. Knowledge of other Units:
PW heard that many CCF troops were in the vicinity of YONGBYON (YE4011) o/a 6 Nov 50. PW observed 2 columns of CCF troops (strength unk) heading northward on foot at PALWONMYON (YE1518) o/a 8 Nov 50.
h. Morale:
PW stated that the morale in the 2nd Bn was. low because it was disorganized and the Cos were fighting independently.
4. GENERAL:Food and Ammo Supplies.
PW stated that food and ammo supplies were adequate. PW was issued 220 rds of s/a ammo at CHOLSAN but was ordered to turn in 100 rds while at KUSONG (reason unk).
