3. MILITARY HISTORY:26 Jul 50 - Inducted at SHIN HOKUSEI.
28 Jul 50 - Entered 239th Regt Sig Co in CHINNAMPO and was made a Pvt.
10 Sep 50 - PW was ordered to go to P‘YONGYANG alone to the Naval HQ. PW walked half way and hitched a ride from there on.
11 Sep 50 - PW was given the rank of Jr Lt at the Naval HQ.
Here a Naval Captain ordered PW, 3 EM, 2 Jr Lts, 1 Lt to KANGNUNG (江陵).
The above-mentioned 3 EM were also promoted to Jr Lt the same time that PW received his promotion.
These 7 officers including PW left that night for KANGNTJNG on foot.
26 Sep 50 - PW and officers reported to 249th Regt HQ. PW with 16 EM was ordered to go to SOKCHOK (束草) by foot.
30 Sep 50 - PW and 16 men reached SOKCHOK. The same night 4th Bn of 249th Regt from KANGNTJNG reached SOKCHOK.
PW and his 16 men were ordered by 4th Bn commander to go to ANBYON (安边).
The 4th Bn composed of 3 companies and PW's unit left SOKCHOK by companies at 30 minute intervals. PW’s unit was the last to leave.
3 Oct 50 - At KANSONG (江陵) PW with the knowledge of being pursued by ROK troops ordered his 16 men to go home, and PW ran into the hills and travelled by foot to PUK-CH'ONG where PW was captured.
4. PERSONALITIES:PAK, Tae Kun (朴態根), Capt, 33 yrs old, 4th Bn CO, 249th Regt.
5. MORALE:Morale of the 239th Regt, Sig Co was low.
