2. ASSESSMENT:
PW appeared to be in good physical condition at time of interrogation. PW was a farmer prior to entering the service. PW was cooperative and of average intelligence. Interrogation was conducted thru a Korean interpreter who has knowledge of Chinese, and evaluation of information should be assessed accordingly. Recommended for further interrogation. Previously interrogated by the 24th Div IPW Team 18 Nov 50.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW inducted into the Chinese Nationalist Army 26 Jan 1941 at CHUKAOSZU (竹高四) and without receiving any basic training he participated in four campaigns against the Japanese army in MIENTIEN (面旬). 18 Aug 46, PW was captured by the CCF at WUYUANPU (吳遠浦) and was sent to WNGHUNG (東洪) to receive. two months training. PW was as signed to the 8th Route Army, 9th Div, 26th Regt, 1st Bn Hq, Sanitation Sect and fought against the Chinese Nationalist Army at KUNGCHUCHIEN (公主前), HSIGANGHSI (西方西), FAJO (発苦), ITAOKOU (一道溝), ERHTAOKOU (二道溝), HSINKAIYUAN (新開原), SZUPING (四平), IHSIEN (一縣), CHINCHOU (全州), HEHSHANHSIEN (黑山縣), CHINSIHULUTAO (金西湖路道), SHANHAIKUAN (山海岡), and TIENCHING (天津) until Nov 47. The 7th and 8th Div of the 8th Route Army
also participated in the above campaigns, The 7th, 6th, and 9th Div, 8th Route Army were stationed in PEIPING (北京) from Nov 47 to Jan 48, during which time they were engaged in marksmanship training. The Three Divs 26 Jan 1948 marched to HANKOU (漢口) arriving approx 46 days later. After resting for approx a month the three Divs then marched to HUNAN (湖南) arriving approx 23 days later. At HUNAN, the 7th, 8th, and 9th Divs engaged in combat training for approx two months. The three Divs then departed HUNAN and arrived at PELISZU (北里四) and fought against the 53rd Chinese Nationalist Army for one day. The three Divs then departed PELISZU and arrived at TINGCHIALIN a day later and rested for approx 20 days. The Divs then departed TINGCHIALIN (丁家林) and arrived at WANWANLOU (九九樓) approx 34 days later and fought the 125th Chinese Nationalist Army for a day. The Divs then went to LINSHANHSIEN (林山縣) and after resting for approx 10 days it went to LUICHOUPANTAO (雷州半島) arriving approx 15 days later. The Divs then went to LOSHAI (羅篩) and received approx two months of amphibious training. The Divs then went to PEHUTOU (北湖頭) for approx 4 days of rest. From PEHUTOU the Divs then went to WEICHOUTAO (魏州島) by boat arriving a day later. The Divs remained at WEICHOUTAO for approx 20 days preparing defensive positions. From here the Divs went to PEHAI (北海) by boat and stayed there for approx 20 days. During this time the 7th, 8th, and 9th Div invaded HAINAN Island. The Divs departed PEHAI and arrived at HENGSHAN (衡山) for approx one month of rest. The 7th, 8th and 9th Divs then went to KWANGCHOU (廣州) at which time PW heard from his Regt'l Comdr that the three Divs were to be reassigned to the 40th Army with the 9th Div being redesignated 120th Div. (Unit redesignation of the 7th and 8th Div unk). 120th Div entrained for HANKOU (漢口) arriving two days later. The 120th Div then entrained for ANTUNG, via PEIPING (北京), TIENTSIN (天津), SHANHAIKUAN (山海岡) and MUKDER (奉天). The 120th Div remained in ANTUNG for approx two months engaging in field training. 120th Div crossed the YALU River o/a 28 Oct 50 and marched for 7 nights to an unk location. PW's unit received artillery fire at this location and the unit became disorganized, at which time PW became separated from his unit. PW and two others remained in a Korean home and was captured by elements of the 5th RCT on 17 Nov 50.

b. Unit Organization and Strength:
120th Div composed of the 358th, 359th, and 360th Regt, with 3 Bns in each Regt. Each Bn was composed of 3 Rifle Cos, Heavy Weapons Co, and Service Co, consisting of medics and signal personnel.
Strength of 40th Army and 120th Div unk. Original strength of 359th Regt - approx 2,400. Present strength unk. Original strength of 1st Bn - approx 800. Present strength unk. Each Co had an original strength of approx 170 - 180. Present strength unk. Strength of Svc Co - approx 40 men.

c. Equipment:
Each Rifle Co had 9 LMGs, 3 mortars (size unk) and rifles. Heavy Weapons Co had 3 HMGs, 4 artillery pieces (size unk).

4. GENERAL:
a. Food and Ammo Supplies:
Food and ammo were adequate in PW's unit. Ammo was transported from an arsenal in MUKDEN, by trucks. (Location of arsenal and supply route unk). Food was brought in from HUPE (湖北), HANKOU (漢口), CHANGSHA (長沙) and HOUNAN (火南).

b. U.S. PsW:
PW heard that three or four U.S. soldiers were captured in the vicinity where PW was captured. (WONNAM-DONG YE2406) Details unk.
