1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative but lacked information. He is unobservant and info seems unreliable.

3. T/O & E OF UNIT:
38th Army was composed of the 112th, 113th, and the 114th Rifle Div.
114th Rifle Division was composed of the 340th, 341st, and 342nd Regiments.
342nd Rifle Regiment was composed of 3 rifle battalions.
Each rifle battalion was composed of 3 rifle companies.
Each rifle company was composed of 3 rifle platoons.
Each rifle platoon was composed of 2 rifle squads.

No information was available on battalions and higher echelons.
One Korean interpreter was attached to each company. The PW believes that they were officers, as their uniforms had red piping on the collar, sleeves and trousers.
Chain of command of the PW’s unit is the same as prior to crossing the YALU.
Strength of Division and Army is unknown.
No parts of the PW 1s unit have been integrated into Korean units.

4. PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
Conscripted 18 May 48 at HAINAN ISLAND (海南島). Assigned to the CNA 64th Army, 131st Div, 391st Regt, 3rd Bn, 8th Co, 2nd Plat, 5th Sqd.
Captured on 24 Apr 50 by the CCF, 40th Army on HAINAN ISLAND (海南島). PW travelled with the CCF to unknown areas and in Jul 50 was assigned to the present unit at HSIN-YANG (新陽).
The 38th Army departed HSIN-YANG (新陽) in Oct 56, arrived at ANTUNG (安東) at an unknown data.
The 1st Battalion of the 342nd Regt, 114th Div, crossed the YALU on a train and arrived at an unknown place in KOREA.
The unit marched southward through unknown areas in KOREA and was engaged in combat 20 days after detraining.

5. FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLES:
No food or ammo supplies were being received by the PW’s unit since the YALU River crossing.

6. GENERAL INFO:
PW is not a volunteer for Korean service; no instructions were given to appear as volunteers if captured.
No amphibious training undergone by PW's unit.
No info on the Iron & Stael Brigade.
No Japanese units were seen in the CCF.
No known Militia or Security Troops existed basidas. tpa regular troops.
Type of recruiting program was unknown.
Pay of various grade:
Private : 60,000 yuan
No known CCF units have Soviet equipment.
Movements of troops to MANCHURIA was unknown.
No known paratroop or paratroop unit in the CCF.
Former captured CNA equipment and troops are being used by the CCF.
Political officers often lectured on the CCF's duty to liberate
the poor and of their representing the true democracy.
