2. ASSESSMENT:
Cooperative, but information seems unreliable due to short period of military service. Deserted his unit very shortly after he was assigned.

3. T/O & E AND STRENGTH OF: 26th Security Guard Brigade.
26th Security Guard Brigade consisted of Political Defense Bureau (政治 防衛部), (with a Political Defense Platoon), Court of Justice (裁判所), Prosecutor’s Office (検察所), 4 Inf Bns, Tank Bn, Engr Bn, 46mm Arty Bn, 76mm Arty Bn and 120mm Arty Bn.

PW observed SMGs and rifles (no unknown) in Inf Bns. No detailed information concerning above mentioned Bns because PW was with the Brigade Hq during the short period of service.

4. LOCATION & ACTIVITIES OF UNITS:
Hq of 26th Security Guard Brigade was located on a mountain approx 12 Km (by road) N of YONCH’ON until 8 Oct 50.
26th Security Guard Brigade attacked by UN Forces 6 Oct 50. During the battle, PW deserted 8 Oct 50.
No information concerning whereabouts of 26th Security Guard Brigade after 8 Oct 50.

5. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Conscripted 7 Sep 50 at P'YONGYANG.
Received no basic training,
Because of prior 6 months at a law school, PW was commissioned Sr Capt prior to hie assignment with Prosecution Section of 26th Security Guard Brig,
18 Sep 50, PW with 3 other members of Prosecution Section, left P’YONGYANG on truck and foot and traveled through SARIWON (stayed 1 day), KAESONG (stayed 1 day), YONCH'ON (stayed 3 days), CHORWON and arrived at a mountain approx 12 Km N of YONCH'ON on 28 Sep 50.

6. FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
Believed that 26th Security Guard Brigade had always sufficient food. Source and route unknown.

7. ARMOR & ARTILLERY:
Artillery: 46mm, 72mm and 120mm guns in 26th Security Guard Brigade (number unknown)

8. MORALE:
Morale among troops of the 26th Brigade was low due to lack of training and officers.

9. COMMUNICATIONS:
Field telephones and messengers were used between Brigade Hq and Bn Headquarters.
