3. MILITARY HISTORY:10 Sep 50: Inducted at HOERYUNG (會寧) and assigned to HAMPUK Guard Regt, 3rd Bn. Received trng till date of dep.
11 Oct 50: 3rd Bn dep HOERYONG on foot.
18 Oct 50: Arr CHANGHYON DONG (將現洞).
22 Oct 50: 3rd Bn dep CHANGHYON DONG on foot.
4 Nov 50: Arr MUSAN (茂山).
14 Nov 50: 3rd Bn integrated into 77th Div. At about 2100 hrs PW observed approx 1,000 men of the 77th Div marching out of MUSAN into MANCHURIA. PW heard conversation among troops; quote: We will all be killed if we stay in KOREA; unquote.
15 Nov 50: 1100 hrs; PW went to Div Hqs to seek whereabouts of fellow soldiers; observed Hq's packing for movement. 1400 hrs; units had dep by truck and on foot; PW had intentions of deserting prior to this so did not join unit; escaped. While escaping PW saw stragglers in groups of 10 or 20 arriving MUSAN.

6. MILITARY HISTORY:22 Oct 50: Inducted at POJUN (堡田) with 3,000 recruits.
24 Oct 50: 3,000 recruits dep POJUN on foot for MUSAN (茂山). At PAEKAM (白岩) 1/3 rode freight cars (PW included).
27 Oct 50: 1,000 arr MUSAN; those who walked are later. Received trng.
14 Nov 50: 0600 hrs; PW observed approx 500 recruits wading across river into MANCHURIA; also observed troops walking toward HOERYONG (會寧). This latter group, PW heard, was composed of about 2 to 31000 troops and that they will across into MANCHURIA and travel for 2 nights.
15 Nov 50: PW and 26 sick soldiers received medical discharge from regtl Hqs. Dep for home on foot that night.
25 Nov 50: Captured at KILCHU.
