2. ASSESSMENT:
PW appeared to be in good physical condition at time of interrogation. PW was employed at a Pulp Manufaturing Co in SINUIJU as a laborer from May 48 to date of induction. PW was fairly cooperative but of below average intelligence. Information obtained is unreliable. PW appeared to pe unobservant and could not recall dates or exact locations. PW possessed a Safe Conduct Pass which he claimed to have picked in vic of WONNI o/a 13 Nov 50. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW was inducted into the NKA 10 Oct 50 at SINUIJU. PW received 1 week of inf training at South SINUIJU with the 47th Div. 3rd Regt. Upon completion of training, the 3rd Bn, 3rd Regt, 47th Div to which PW was assigned, entrained for SONCH’ON (XE6406) arriving o/a 20 Oct 50. (PW had no knowledge regarding the itinerary of the units in the 47th Div other than the 3rd Bn). The 3rd Bn remained at SONCH'ON for 2 days resting and receiving rifle training. The 3rd Bn then marched to KUSONG (XE9228) arriving o/a 25 Oct 50. The unit received approx five (5) days of Inf training, then marched to vie of SAKCHU (XE8846) and stayed there overnight. The unit then departed for unk location, passing TAECH’ON (YE1322). PW deserted his unit a few rifles out of TAECH'ON o/a 7 Nov 50. At this point, PW’s unit was heading southwards. PW hid in civilian homes and worked his way SE and arrived in vie WONNI (YE5206) o/a 13 Nov 50. From 13 Nov to 17 Nov 50, PW remained in the vic of YONGBYON (YE4011). 17 Nov 50, PW surrendered.

b. Unit Organization and Strength:
PW had no knowledge of the organizational structure of the 47th Div with the exception of his Co (8th Co). The 8th Co consisted of 3 Rifle Plats and a HMG Plat. PW observed approx 400 men in the 3rd Bn. There were approx 120 men in the 8th Co.

c. Equipment:
PW observed 2 HMGs in the HMG Plat. There were 9 DP LMGs in the 8th Co. Sqd Ldrs had PPSH SMGs. The riflemen were armed with M1891 rifles. All personnel were issued 2xF-l defensive grenades. There were 3 mortars (size uri1c) in the Bn. PW observed 1 GAZ-51 truck and 1 GAZ-67 jeep in his Bn.

d. Knowledge of Other Units
PW observed approx 100 CCF troops marching westward in vic of (XE8846) o/a 30 Oct 50. These troops were armed with small arms. No arty or tanks were observed. PW observed countless number of CCF troops in vic of YONGBYON (YE4011) o/a 16 Oct 50. These troops were dug in on a small hill and well camouflaged with pine branches.

e. Artillery and Armor:
PW observed 2x112mm Howitzer, truck-drawn, heading N at vic SAKCHU (XE8846) o/a 30 Oct 50. PW observed approx 5x76mm M1942 Guns in vie KUSONG (XE9228) being pulled by oxen heading S o/a 25 Oct 50.

f. Morale:
Morale in PW's unit was low because the majority of the personnel were new recruits and had no desire to fight.

4. GENERAL:
a. Food and Ammo Supplies:
Food was procured locally, The men in the 3rd Bn were issued approx 200 rds of s/a ammo when they departed SONCH’ON o/a 22 Oct 50. Each LMG had approx 500-800 rds of ammo. No additional ammo was received.
